Absolutely love Genevieve. If I had a second daughter that would be her name. Very elegant and timeless. I know it’s a long name but do you need a nickname?

Springadorable · 25/05/2025 19:18

Emanwenym · 25/05/2025 12:58

Gigi is awful.

Don't think I've ever agreed with anything so wholeheartedly

Emanwenym · 25/05/2025 12:58

Gigi is awful.

somejust · 25/05/2025 12:51

Genevieve with a nickname Gigi is pretty

PeachPumpkin · 25/05/2025 12:49

I think a lot of them are nice, but I’d need to know your surname to decide, as I go a lot on how the first name and surname go together. Totally understand you probably don’t want to give that out though!

I will say that I think ‘Evie’ is a bit overdone. I can also see Genevieve being shortened to Gen.

Bluevelvetsofa · 25/05/2025 12:45

Why not Vivienne if you like Vivi.

Tulipsontoast · 25/05/2025 09:36

Camille is beautiful but not keen on the rest.

theunbreakablecleopatrajones · 25/05/2025 09:34

Genevieve - Vivi (way too many Evie’s) is great and the only one I’d go for

Anne Marie is v retro but ok, it’s two separate names though, don’t run them together. Marianne is a much nicer version.

Lila - no, way too many Lilys, too many Lola/Lara/lena/Leila names, and it’s too close to the tampon brand

Colette / Camille - they just sound crap in UK accents. Camilla is fine.

Moreteaandchocolate · 25/05/2025 07:32

Lila is lovely!

How about Genevieve nn Neve?

BunnyRuddington · 25/05/2025 06:58

DustyLee123 · 25/05/2025 06:45

Lila reminds me of Lilets

I tbink it’s the name of a company that does broadband isn’t it? Bit like calling your DD Virgin? Grin

DustyLee123 · 25/05/2025 06:45

WtafIsThat · 24/05/2025 17:59

No more Evies, please!

This. There was a time when I thought it had been made compulsory to give this name to your DD and I’d just missed the memo.

JillyGiraffe · 25/05/2025 05:48

I picked Lila, but I’m not keen on any of them to be honest. Maybe Genevieve nn Jenny? I think Jennifer is lovely!

Leafusbeus · 25/05/2025 01:16

Annemarie is a nice name.
Lila is okay and Colette is kind of pretty.
I had a good friend years ago Genevieve , only we pronounced it the French way which is much preferable to the English pronunciation imo.
I'm afraid I'm not terribly keen on Camille or Camilla.

OopsieeDaisy · 24/05/2025 23:32

Sorry OP, I’m not keen on any of them either. Do you like Anneliese? Maybe that has a similar feel and I think it’s lovely.

CarpetKnees · 24/05/2025 19:36

If I had to pick one, then Colette, but none of them would make a list of favourites for me.

Emanwenym · 24/05/2025 19:31

Colette - it's not awful but it seems very dated
Camille - I don't know how to say it.
Lila - I don't like it. Seems nothingy and merges into all the Lily, Isla, Lola type names
Genevieve - It seems lumpy
(Evie) - On it's own it's OK but it's overused
(Vivie) - awful
Annemarie - very1960s Roman Catholic

I don't like any of them

Berlinlover · 24/05/2025 19:02

None of these names are nice - sorry.

real13 · 24/05/2025 18:58

I said Genevieve (Vivie). Love the nickname. Not keen on Genevieve, but I really love Vivie

wlv12 · 24/05/2025 18:25

I like Vivie, it’s really pretty, classic but different.

Happyinarcon · 24/05/2025 18:21

I picked Annemarie because I think it’s an underused classic that sounds refreshing.

Notdoingtoobadfor52 · 24/05/2025 18:17

All dreadful - sorry

WtafIsThat · 24/05/2025 17:59

No more Evies, please!
