Just out of interest.
Was wondering what opinions were on the name Damson for a girl.

I don't like it at all. It would be like calling them Plum,Apricot or Greengage.

amner · 21/05/2008 15:09

I quite liked it when I read the OP

But after reading all the responses.. I've kinds changed my mind.

neolara · 21/05/2008 15:06

I think it's lovely.

ElizabethBeresford · 21/05/2008 15:00

I used to go to school with a Denzil. I prefer that. Damson is a bit too...

I quite like Berry for a girl though.

gummybears · 21/05/2008 11:40

I know a Victoria who has always been called Plum - quite pretty.

mazzystar · 20/05/2008 22:40

I thought Plum was a posho nickname for Victoria

Isn't Damson - olde french or something - a form of address as well a fruit

Is this thread a joke? Someone else was saying they were going to call a child Kennedi.
PG wodehouse was called Plum - short for Pelham.

Gosh no, I'm not considering this myself. I've just seen this twice recently on "real" little baby girls.
I like the idea of the name, the colour etc but wouldn't use myself. Don't mind the jam connection, but the nickname choices really aren't great!

Bit odd. Semi - cute.

Prefer Tamsin though.

expatinscotland · 20/05/2008 20:21

It's not a jam, WT! It's a gin .

MadBadandDangeroustoKnow · 20/05/2008 20:20

If you want to name her after a variety of plum, then how about Victoria?

Nancy66 · 20/05/2008 20:10

'whacky' for the sake of it and just plain cruel to the kid.

DeeRiguer · 20/05/2008 19:38
