Mine Ds is a Biblical name. Dd is a pretty and modern but not common name and certainly not chavvy.

Clary · 24/05/2008 22:37

Oh OK if you already have DD and DS what kind of names do they have?

(I like it if names "go" tho not all on MN agree I know).

Do you need to avoid any initials? Are their names classic or more funky?

squareheadcut · 24/05/2008 20:04

i saw a guy called Erron - i liked it

CrushWithEyeliner · 24/05/2008 19:52

noddyholder · 24/05/2008 19:52

solo · 24/05/2008 19:49

Forget that, he would be BJ

solo · 24/05/2008 19:49

Brodie Jack.

cyteen · 24/05/2008 19:46

Laurence can shorten to Lol, Loz, Larry...

You can pronounce Aaron either way - personally I prefer 'arron', as all the Aarons I've known have pronounced it this way, but you decide really.

mustsleep · 24/05/2008 10:42

he wasn;t keen on Will

thanks Clary not sure if he's stuck on surnames or what but i don't like anything from his list either and i'm not backing down

he likes austin but not enough

what does everyone think of aaron and is it pronounced aron or airron?

he likes Laurance off ggirl's list but what can you shorten that to as i think dd would struggle

also baby likely to have strawb blonde hair and be quite fair if this helps that's what put me off bradley don;t care about eastenders thing but if he looks similar to him as well could be a but much

might just have to go with ds's choice of Heatblast and be done with it!

surname is one syllable (sp?) and starts with a "h" so makes some of the names beginning with "h" sound a bit daft - although i still love Harry!!

Your lists are very different aren't they.

You need to find some common ground. I like some of yours but none of yr DH's - they are just not the kind of names I like.

Is he stuck on a surname type name? Does he not like Austin or Ashton from yr list?

What about sthg like
Ethan
Zach
Seth
Angus
Miles is quite cool and not too first named if that floats DH's boat.

Will is a fine name.

maybemaybee · 23/05/2008 10:31

Mason is the best name out of both lists.

mustsleep · 23/05/2008 10:13

mmmm william's nice

could be william, will, billy etc

wonder if dh will like

OP posts:
brimfull · 22/05/2008 21:29

LonelySingleMummy · 22/05/2008 21:22

arthur? ok
charlie - bit common (by that i mean usual not trampy lol)
austin - dunno
sid - parents dog called sid so cant comment
jack - again a bit usual
ashton - like it
mason - bit chavvy - sorry dont want to offend
preston - britney!!!
brody - like it
domonic - knew one didnt like him :p
bradley - like it

Hope someone on here can help you decide. I called my little boy Luca.

pagwatch · 22/05/2008 13:36

oh Rufus is loevly

Dominic is fine.

Amandella · 22/05/2008 13:28

Sorry - I think your dh has terrible taste in names!! I like most of yours - not keen on Ashton particularly but the others are great.

kitsmummy · 22/05/2008 12:17

Oh yes, wow Victorian Squalor, Rufus is gorgeous, it would be my chosen name but DH doesn't like it.

Dominic is ok from the original list. Just purlease not Mason. Can't explain why but it just summons up pictures of nasty little thug boys with shaved heads. The ones that are really quite horrible even when they're only 6 years old.

VictorianSqualor · 21/05/2008 18:31

The Mason thread

VictorianSqualor · 21/05/2008 18:26

I think you need to read the thread about Mason that was on here before, it's a terrible name with awful connotations.

They're all alright but none of them really jump out at me TBH.

Have Rufus, I fell in love with it a week after DS2 was born

mustsleep · 21/05/2008 18:19

have already considered registering him alone!!

dh doesn't like anything from my list though and i need further inspiration
