Sister for Isla?

We’re expecting a baby girl and finding it so hard to feel inspired by names. We had a few ideas for boys that we loved! But we’re having a girl lol

I’m not looking for anything too unusual but ideally not overused either. I know I already have an Isla which is popular (however the name is just so beautiful and I have only met 1 other in 3 years!) so some similar styles to that please :)

Names from our shortlist so far to give you an idea of what we like… (I know no name will please everyone)

  • Imogen - I love this and would probably be my number one choice but OH hates it
  • Amelia - far too overused?
  • Mia - I know this is still very popular but not quite as high on the lists as Amelia and it’s one we agree on so probably the front runner so far
  • Freya - OH loves this, I like it but probably wouldn’t be my first choice
  • Edie - both agree on this and I like that it’s less common but not sure it’s ‘pretty’ sounding enough
  • Lula - our wildcare choice. Again like that it’s not as common, this was actually on our shortlist for our eldest but OH said the other day it sounds like a cartoon character and now I can’t get that out of my head lol

Also like Lily but this got used by someone else in the family so it’s a no go for us

New ideas much appreciated feel like I’m going over the same list

Imogen - was on my list but husband hates it. So like me, you’re gonna have to forget about that one.

Lula - I like. Luna too

amelia or Amelie - both pretty

Mia - I don love

Freya - I thought of this before even opening your thread! Goes well!!

How about aurora, aurelia, Beatrice, Bonnie, Ottillie, Phoebe

Lula.

In medical terms ‘amelia’ is a birth defect. I just can’t think of anything else since I found this out. I’m not sure why it’s so popular!

I know an Isla with a baby sister called Mabel. I think I’d pick Amelia from your list.

Love Edie and it sounds nice with Isla.

How about Maia?

The only one I like is Freya. The others are far too twee.
