We already have an Ava.

  • Mabel
  • Erin

Or Elsie. We do also like this one!

Ooh yes Elsie is the best one

mathanxiety · 23/05/2025 03:13

Yes, they're far too close.

I think Mabel, Isla, or Elle would go nicely with Ava.

Yes, too similar.
Ava and ..
Callie and Isla from your list are perfect.

Others ..
Skye
Eliza
Eloise
Elsie

RuthW · 22/05/2025 22:15

Ava and Elsie. Maeve is too similar

FloriMummy · 22/05/2025 22:07

Elsie is lovely. Nice for baby (baby elsie) for a girl and grown woman.

Have you considered Elise?

claudiine · 22/05/2025 22:05

I wouldn’t because in later years Ava may get shortened to Ave and then you’d have rhyming names.

middleagedandinarage · 22/05/2025 22:05

Yes too similar sounding I think.
Erin, Elle or Elsie are all lovely and go well with Ava.
Callie feels like a dog's name for me. Isla is nice but I think two names ending "a" are too similar sounding.

sakuraspring · 22/05/2025 22:02

Yes far too similar

Callie and Erin both work well though

Amyjade2022 · 22/05/2025 22:01

Yes in my opinion too similar sounding. Im having the same issue with one of the names on my shortlist sounding the same as their sibling.

Isla is my favourite by far from your list, biased cause I have one 😀otherwise Elsie

Mmmkaay · 22/05/2025 06:35

Ava and Elsie is lovely.

I agree

Catandsquirrel · 22/05/2025 21:04

I think so, same vowel sounds. Same with Mabel. I think not deal breakers, they just sound a bit bland and matchy together.

Erin works. I like Callie but would prefer a full forrm.

Elle, Isla, Elsie, overused.

user2848502016 · 22/05/2025 17:06

Yes I think they are sorry!

I like Isla best from your list
Mabel is nice too but Ava and Mabel doesn’t sound quite right

Notellinganyone · 22/05/2025 17:06

Callie is lovely- your names are definitely too similar.

Cocktailsandcheese · 22/05/2025 16:56

I think you could use them both together. But I do think Erin is lovely - could Maeve be a middle name?

DongDingBell · 22/05/2025 14:36

I don't think they are too similar - starting sound and final sound are different. OK, they both have an "ay" sound in them - but so do loads of words!!

I'm not keen on Elle, but all of the rest of your list -including Maeve - work.

Cloudless01 · 22/05/2025 14:17

Yes too similar. Also they are difficult to say together eg Mayv ‘n’ Ayva.

EcruCardigan · 22/05/2025 14:11

@Deadringer @evilharpy Maeva and Ava rhyme. Maeve is 'Mayv', an Ava is 'Ayv-a'

Deadringer · 22/05/2025 14:05

So Maeve sounds like behave, but A-vaaa, I don't get it.

evilharpy · 22/05/2025 13:57

Deadringer · 22/05/2025 13:21

I don't think they sound alike at all, is it an accent thing?

Both of them rhyme with behave, so sound similar. How would you pronounce them?

EcruCardigan · 22/05/2025 13:55

Yes but you could call both of them Maeva to save time and effort

Callie - doesn't seem like a full name
Isla- pretty but overused and nothingy
Mabel - ok but I'm not keen. Seems frumpy
Erin - ok but has mean girl vibes for me
Elle - Bea, Dee or Kay are better.

GiddyCrab · 22/05/2025 13:34

Very similar.
From your list I'd have Callie.
Elena
Iona
