Agatha or Mina

These are our final two, not sure how I feel about ‘Aggie’ as a n/n & OH suspects Mina could be called ‘meanie’ I know which one I like more but would love to hear thoughts & other recommendations :)

I think I’d prefer to be called Mina (even though it sounds the same as Meaner in my non-rhetoric accent). It’s short, has a nice sound and is unusual but not “out there”.
Agatha feels a bit more of a statement of a name somehow, and Aggie is a word we sometimes use for someone getting stroppy, so it doesn’t sound nice to me.

I like both - I think there are always potential drawbacks to any name, you can't avoid them all. Menna is a name in our family. It's Welsh but also exists in Persian - might be an alternative to Mina if you wanted something similar but without the "E" sound.

Mina is cute and underused compared to similar Nina. It also has a kind a sexy, romantic vibe for me because of the obvious Dracula links. I don’t think the “meaner” or “Meanie” thing would bother or worry me. For me the biggest bug bear might be people regularly mishearing it as “Nina?”

Agatha is a name I want to love because I adore Agatha Christie books but realistically it’s one of those retro hipster names (like Ethel) that imo you have to be pretty cool to pull off. For me, I think it might be easier to be a Mina than an Agatha.

Mina is a bit boring.
I LOVE AGatha Christie, I don't like the sound of Agatha as much as the name DD became but if I did i would have gone for it. I think it's quite cool.

I know a few Aggies who are short for Agnieszka which is beautiful. So Aggie is relatively popular (although these are all 40+ years olds)
