These are our final two, not sure how I feel about ‘Aggie’ as a n/n & OH suspects Mina could be called ‘meanie’ I know which one I like more but would love to hear thoughts & other recommendations :)

Agatha definitely.

Mina (pronounced Min-Na or My -na?) looks like a nn to me.

SunshineAndFizz · 23/05/2025 13:42

Neither are great, but if I had to pick one I’d definitely go for Agatha.

Words · 23/05/2025 13:40

My late hen was called Agatha.

Chloe793 · 23/05/2025 13:38

I prefer Mina. Agatha and Agnes are both really ugly sounding to me.

bigbreakfastclub · 23/05/2025 13:28

Can’t say I like either name

march654 · 23/05/2025 13:24

How about Minnie? My gran was called Wilhelmina and she was always Minnie. I prefer Mina over Agatha though.

InTheLibrary · 23/05/2025 13:20

Agatha, nn Taggie.

EdisinBurgh · 23/05/2025 13:18

Mina is cute but sounds very much like a nickname or baby/intimate family name. Is it short for anything?

WearyAuldWumman · 23/05/2025 13:17

I'm in my 60s, so Agatha makes me think of Aunt Agatha in 'Bewitched'.

feelingbleh · 23/05/2025 13:16

Their both awful. Please don't call your kid Agatha

Jem96 · 23/05/2025 13:13

So different to each other!

Mina but I’d go for the nn Mimi.

Want to love Agatha bc of Agatha Christie but it sounds so unpleasant esp Aggie/y. I like Agnes though strangely.

I did see a very sweet Aggie/Agatha at a playgroup this week though! I did a double take at such a little used and not v pleasant sounding name tbh.

Tbrh · 23/05/2025 07:38

Wow those are so different. I like Mina.

pamshortsbrokenbothherlegs · 23/05/2025 07:37

Like Agatha but prefer Agnes, as another pp has said. Really dislike Mina, it feels wet in comparison.

user1492757084 · 23/05/2025 07:24

I prefer Agatha. I know a fun, energetic Aggie in real life.

Mina is nice.

Mina sounds like a cat name (sorry!). Out of these two I would choose Agatha, but I agree that Agnes is much nicer.

marshmallowfinder · 22/05/2025 18:25

Agatha is dreadful. Mina (Meaner) sounds rather ugly to me I'm afraid.

user2848502016 · 22/05/2025 18:03

I think Mina

Although as PP said prefer Agnes, Agatha gives me mean great aunt vibes!

kmurray1 · 22/05/2025 16:39

Mina

bridgetreilly · 22/05/2025 00:26

Agatha!

OurStepsWillAlwaysRhyme · 21/05/2025 23:58

Agatha has a very harsh sound. Mina is ok but more like a nickname than a real name.

CherryVanillaPie · 21/05/2025 23:55

Mina

Talipesmum · 21/05/2025 23:45

Prefer mina. They’re both very Dracula for me - Mina Harker in the original Dracula story, and Sister Agatha in a more recent 2020 tv Dracula :-)

MummytoE · 21/05/2025 23:39

Both awful, sorry

DramaAlpaca · 21/05/2025 23:33

I love Agatha.

Mina is a bit twee.
