I like it

ZebraPrintt · 17/05/2025 17:08

I like it, but all I can think about is Sienna from hollyoaks

HugoYorway · 17/05/2025 16:47

Babies called Sienna in England & Wales since 1996
Sienna Miller - Wikipedia
Her acting breakthrough came in the 2004 films Layer Cake and Alfie.

HugoYorway · 17/05/2025 16:43

@mambojambodothetango , the popular name is Sienna, as is the colour.

@Shetlands Princess Beatrice of where?

My daughter is 30 and is called Siena. This spelling is not used very often

Howdoesithappenlikethis · 15/05/2025 19:16

Savannah sounds similar but it's nicer imo, and less common

SuziQuinto · 15/05/2025 19:11

I really don't like it because I've taught several teenagers with that name and they've all been really lazy and difficult! I know it's not the name, but it's the association. It's a bit like Amber or Jade where I live, once quite different, but now very popular indeed.

wibblywobblytummytumtum · 15/05/2025 19:06

I think she’s referring to Princess Beatrice of the British Royal Family,

TizerorFizz · 15/05/2025 18:47

@Shetlands Princess Beatrice of where?

Moreteaandchocolate · 15/05/2025 18:39

It’s lovely! As long as you don’t mind it being quite popular / trendy 😊

AnneMarieW · 15/05/2025 18:08

Too trendy and celeb for me I’m afraid (if you look at the stats it only became popular when Sienna Miller became famous), I think it might date in future. I personally prefer similar sounding but more classical Serena or Selena.

mambojambodothetango · 15/05/2025 17:42

At least spell it correctly, assuming you are inspired by the Italian city Siena. I like it.

Most people have the double N , in fact I don’t know anyone that has a single ,
you’d spend your life saying ‘ no, just one N ‘

bugalugs45 · 15/05/2025 18:05

I love it ,very pretty but it’s super popular , my 8 year old has 4 in their class of 30 .
Don’t like it tagged with Rose or May though , think it’s bit chavvy but any name double barrelled with those makes
me cringe tbh

Shetlands · 15/05/2025 18:00

Princess Beatrice named her eldest daughter Sienna Elizabeth in 2021.

TizerorFizz · 15/05/2025 17:56

Sienna Miller was a boarder at a very expensive girls’ school. The name has now been done to death - probably not seen in girls boarding schools though.

Spaceman101 · 15/05/2025 17:50

I a fan as my 6 year old is called Sienna. I don't find it to be overused as others have said.

mambojambodothetango · 15/05/2025 17:42

WtafIsThat · 15/05/2025 13:51

About ten years ago every girl was named Sienna so I’m a bit over it. It’s usually tagged with Rose or Grace as a filler middle name.

I was going to say in Year 6 at school there are many Siennas!

GloriousBlue · 15/05/2025 17:00

We would have called DS Sienna if he were a girl, but that was 7 years ago

I think it's a bit done now. Unfortunate, as it's a pretty name

Headycloud · 15/05/2025 16:02

Love it! It’s on our list.

MN are very snooty about certain names and this name seems to be one of them. I’m not sure why, probably because it’s not middle class enough.

its not over used if you look at it statistically it peaked a few years at no 12 well below Olivia, Freya, Isla (yet these names are loved by mumsnet).

Also keep in mind that popular names twenty years ago aren’t the same as popular names now as parents are choosing a wonder variety of names so even the top 3 most popular names are far less used than 10-20 years ago.

BrentfordForever · 15/05/2025 15:30

It’s lovely but reminds me tiny bit of Senna laxative … sorry 🤐

Pppopopapill · 15/05/2025 15:28

It’s lovely.

ginasevern · 15/05/2025 15:25

It's not unpleasant but she will be one of thousands called it.

ZingyMentor · 15/05/2025 14:58

Its a beautiful name my 11 year old is called Sienna 😀
