Emily, Matilda or Imogen?

Hi,

We are due DC2 (who looks to be a girl) in July and struggling to decide on a name choice. The three we keep coming back to are Emily, Matilda and Imogen. What are your thoughts? I'm wondering if I haven't thought of something related to one of them that might influence us towards/away from them or if I'll find myself subconsciously hoping one will win the poll Grin DS is Jacob.

Thanks

Do you prefer Matty, Immy, or Em, as these are the likely nicknames from friends.

I personally think Emily is more classic, the other two are very on trend just now. All are nice.

I have a Matilda so that gets my vote. Love, love, love it.

Imogen is my favourite - classic, classy and strong.

Matilda is nice, but I’m not a huge fan of Tilly for an adult.

Emily has been so commonly used for so many years that, although it’s a lovely classic, it now feels a bit bland to me unfortunately.

Matilda is my favourite but I think all are great names.

My order of preference is Matilda, then Emily then Imogen last.

I have an Imogen so may be slightly bias! But it is a lovely name, and she is the only one in her nursery and tells me she loves her name.
All 3 are lovely.

Imogen or Emily. Voted Imogen as more unheard of. Not keen on Matilda

I genuinely love all of those names! Don’t think you can go wrong with any of them.

I wanted Matilda for DD but it got vetoed by DH. DS would have been Imogen Hope if he’d been a DD, and Emily is always the name that pops in to my head when someone starts a “if you had to name a baby girl RIGHT NOW what would you call her?” thread on here.

Matilda is very popular. I'd go with Imogen.

Like them all! I think Matilda is my favourite

Imogen is more unusual and lovely . All nice names
