Brother for Goddess-named sisters

Name changed for obvious reasons. I've shot myself in the foot with this one! I have two daughters, Artemis and Juno, and now I'm expecting a boy.

The obvious choice would be a mythological or God name, but I'm struggling to find one I like.

For context:
Artemis was named due to links to Artemisia of Caria (kick ass Persian naval war commander) and the Goddess as my Middle Eastern surname has a similar meaning to "Hunter".

Juno was one of the few names we had on our list and we just felt it suited her when she was born.

Any suggestions would be appreciated! Caspar has always been on my list for a boy but it's the only name I have right now and DH is equally at a loss for ideas!

Atlas is gorgeous.
Also Paris and Ares, I don’t think they are too “out there”.

What about Celtic gods? Angus and Dylan both feature.

Alternatively, you could look into Classical authors names for inspiration & a link. Homer, Lucian, etc.

Maybe avoid Norse & Greek god names… they’re every second dog’s name.

What about saint names, not gods or mythical characters or heroes but good people with acceptable names that poor little Paris/ Lysander/ Zeus /Hercules/Ajax won’t have to explain every time he meets someone new.

Patrick

The cleaning product is very much named after Ajax the hero. Because Ajax is stronger than grease/Greece.

I also have two goddess daughters-one Greek and one Roman-Juno. I also have a son who’s name is Hebrew so not quite god like but a beautiful name which suits him.

Juno is our youngest and we liked Eden if she was a boy.

Hollieandtheivie · 24/04/2025 21:47

Egyptian god, like Seth?

Iskander? Persian version of greek Alexander. Though the Great one did defeat the Persians and burn down Persepolis/Takht-e-Jamshid/Pārsa, so your parent might not like that 😂

You could also make a woman's name more 'manly'. Like the opposite of Nigel/Nigella. Amazonian queen Hippolyta > Hippolytus. Personally I love Penthesilea, but Penthesileus is just asking for lifelong spelling frustration.

... it's a good name I only get to name cats, not human babies.

@FigTreeInEurope , it isn't literally bleach, it's a literally a brand of household cleaning products.

Ajax... Stronger than grease/Greece 😁

(As in, stronger than all of the other Greeks together, obvs he's not a Trojan)
