Hi everyone, stuck between Clara, Kaia and Anja for little girl and would love to some other perspectives, I feel like I have been looking over these for so long it's impossible to be objective now!! I also really loved Flora but dh wasn't keen because of unfortunate butter associations.

Older brother is Ronan and we have French, Danish and Irish family!

Clara is my favourite, they're all lovely though.

Clara is my favourite

My DD is Anja (Scandinavian roots too). No one has ever pronounced her name correctly in the UK. 🫣 It does baffle me a little as I have never heard of anyone called Ange-a… They just read it phonetically in English.

WinterFoxes · 17/04/2025 22:19

I love Clara. It was high on my list if we'd had girls. Anja is very pretty too. How about Katja/ Katia/Katya? It's prettier than Kaia imo.

BumbleBeegu · 17/04/2025 21:22

Anja/Anya 😍

Clara 👌🏻

Kaia 👎

TheeNotoriousPIG · 17/04/2025 21:15

I have always had a soft spot for the name Ronan for a little boy!

Out of your choices for a girl, I'd choose Clara or Anja.

LilyJosephine · 16/04/2025 22:22

Anya is lovely. Very international, well known yet underused in the UK. But I’d only use the Anja spelling if you are living in a country where it’s the norm- otherwise it will be an extra annoyance for her.

HugoYorway · 16/04/2025 22:19

@londongirl12 , Kaia Gerber is a famous model. Anya/Anja is a form of Anne/Anna

SummerDaysOnTheWay · 16/04/2025 22:08

Love Clara.

HugoYorway · 16/04/2025 22:01

Kigh-a and Ann-ya

londongirl12 · 16/04/2025 21:20

How do you pronounce Kaia and Anja? In my head it’s Kay-ah and An-ja? I’ve not heard of them before.

hoarahloux · 16/04/2025 20:59

I prefer Klara, particularly if you have Scandinavian roots.

Georgieporgie29 · 16/04/2025 12:48

Anja
Clara
Kaia

in that order.

I think keep the spelling as a nod to your Danish roots. She will mostly be introducing herself in person and it’s easily corrected if people pronounce it wrong. Failing that, what about Ania? Slightly different spelling but shouldn’t have pronunciation issues.

Waterlilysunset · 16/04/2025 12:45

I like Anya !!

Anja!

I don't think people will be confused (maybe depends on area and how many "foreign" names there are)

I know a Sonja and a Tanja, and they get their names said as Songe-a and Tange-a too often.

Mumofgirls2017 · 15/04/2025 21:56

Clara 💯

Olivercats · 15/04/2025 20:50

Kaia definitely

I find Clara twee

GreenMarigold · 15/04/2025 20:32

Love both Clara and Anja

Clara

Grazyna80 · 15/04/2025 19:35

I vote for Kaia . My niece’s name I always thought was lovely. How about Nadia ?

westcott · 15/04/2025 19:26

Anya without doubt. I had a colleague called Anja. Her family were European. She did say that she often got called An-ju

GoodVibesHere · 15/04/2025 19:14

Anja (or Anya) is lovely.

Clara is so popular right now and I just don't get why. It's twee and a bit of an ugly sounding word to me!
