Nora or Eira for a girl?

Hey!
Which name is nicer for a little girl:

Nora
Eira (ay-rah)

She would grow up in England on the Welsh border, as Eira is a welsh name.

Thanks ☺️

Eira all the way

Mulledjuice · 09/04/2025 09:46

There is a regional pronunciation difference for Eira. It would be my preference if you don't mind that.

I also love Cora and prefer it to Nora, but Nora is perfectly fine.

Eira 100% It's bright and uplifting.

Nora is more fuddy duddy.

Eira is sweet with many middle names; and it's a great choice for near Wales.

Eira is nicer by far. I don't think the pronunciation is too hard and I wouldn't let it put me off a name I liked, you just correct people (I have to do it all the time with my daughter's)

I have a Nora 🥰 Eira is also lovely but it would constantly get pronounced wrong. Personally I would’ve pronounced it Eye-rah until I saw your post.

Eira is lovely.

828Pax · 09/04/2025 08:58

I've always loved Eira

Brownhairdontcare · 09/04/2025 08:57

Eira a million times over. Especially if she's a winter baby.

foreverbasil · 09/04/2025 08:57

I love Eira but a lot of people pronounce it as Ira.

SandrenaIsMyBloodType · 09/04/2025 08:57

I think Nora is adorable

Offtobuttonmoontovisitmrspoon · 09/04/2025 08:53

Both lovely but prefer Nora.
