Patrick or Elliot?

Just that really!

We’re slightly leaning towards Elliot but read in a few threads on here that it’s a bit of a ‘naughty’ name which I’d never thought of before. Are they potentially also both a bit outdated?! I can’t tell if I’m just getting in my head about this now!

We also already have a little girl called Nora

I like both. I know an Elliott, in his 20’s. Has a girlfriend called Nora. I think the names go well together.
Plenty of Patricks here in Ireland. More often than not called Paddy or Pa.

These were both on my shortlist. Lovely names. How long is your surname? As Elliot has 3 syllables, it might be a bit of a mouthful with a longer surname...

having been a teacher I haven’t spotted Elliot as being naughty. Nicknames likely (even if you don’t choose them) El or Els.

Patrick is more common, Pat or Paddy likely - I like Patrick but don’t like Pat!

Yes I feel the same about Pat, but I like Paddy so I wonder if we could try to lead with that as his nickname. I don’t mind El or Els either

Same. Also have a lovely friend called Patrick (Paddy). It’s just got a nice feel as a name.

Neither 'go' with Nora..
