Is this TOO old-fashioned?

Is the name 'Christopher' a bit too old-fashioned and Boomer-ish? Generally I like 'classic' names but I guess that some can be a bit much...

No, far more gen x. I don't know any who are baby boomers, I can think of about 8 I know, all in their 40's/50's. I don't think you have to be a baby boomer to have any of the things you describe.

If you can read you will see I already previously started this is my experience!

I know 3, one is 35 and a chain smoker with an ex wife.

The other two are 55 - 66 and fit the description given.

Everyone has different experiences and that is why things such as forums exist - to get different people’s, different perspectives.

Agree with others it’s a classic and probably due a return to popularity sometime soon. I have 2 ex partners called Chris, and now many of the school dads seem to be Chris’s, I know at least 5, it’s very popular in the late 30s/early 40s crowd!

It’s nice. Chose a name you like because you can’t win. Literally just came off a
different thread asking if their chosen name
was ‘chavvy’. If it’s too common it’s ‘common’, older style name is old fashioned. You literally can’t please everyone so just go with what you like

I have a 9 year old Christopher . He is the only one in his primary school . It goes without saying , I love the name .

My brother is Christopher, Chris. He is 50. I think it’s a fine name, but think it’s had it’s day.

I went to school with lots of them and we have a few in the family around my age so I guess it was really popular in the late 80s/early 90s? I really like it though, it's a classic for a reason!

Not at all. Very normal classic name to me and I'm 38.
I've no idea if it is a fashionable name for under 20 y/o of course, but I wouldn't bat an eye and think it's such a classic name that has endured forever so fashion really doesn't matter.

But then I'd far rather a slightly frumpy name that is unremarkable than a 'unique' modern name that will age horribly.

I know a Christopher 40s and he has a brother Robin also in his 40s.
They joke that if their mother had a daughter she may have been called piglet.
Both fantastic men.

I know Christophers in their teens, 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s. Seems pretty timeless to me.

(I loathe Topher. Makes me think of gophers and it's so try-hard).

My friend’s husband is a Chris but it’s not a name I’ve come across since before I had children over twenty year’s ago. Go for it though, nothing wrong with the name. (Chris Hemsworth wears it well).

I’ve just googled it for young celebrities and a young American actor comes up called Christopher Convery who is 17 , so there are younger people called it. Apparently he was in Stranger Things.

I love this name and wanted it for my ds with the nickname Kit. But dh wasn’t keen. To be fair, I don’t think I’ve ever met a Christopher born after the 80s. It should be more popular!

Very normal name, I know two aged 30. Younger ones currently seem to go with Kit as the short form, which is also lovely
