Hi :)

So I already have a Samuel, Rose and Elisabeth.

I'm currently 13 weeks pregnant.

They told me at the hospital that it's too early to tell gender, but I saw nothing between the legs on a scan and a nub analysis on the Internet says that it's 80 % a girl.

So based on the names of my existing children, which name would you recommend?

I used to like Florence, but not so much anymore.

Thank you :)

I think you need a name with an S in it. Or an S or Z sound. The other names all have that letter or sound

Alice
Cecily
Florence (very nice even though you're having second thoughts)
Celeste
Jessica
Josephine
Louisa
Celine
Cecelia

Frances Jane Lucy Josephine Margaret Lisa Joan Anna

If I were having a daughter, she’d be Jane.

I think so far I like the name Matilda best.

I also like the fact that it's easy to pronounce in different countries.

I'm not English and it was important for me to pick names for my children that are easy to pronounce in different countries.

This was what also put me off the name Florence.

Thanks for your suggestions, they are lovely.

My husband rejected every single one of them:(

Then what names has he suggested?
Based on your DC's names, I would also choose something very classic like all the other suggestions.
My first thoughts were Lucy or Catherine but I'm pretty sure those have been suggested.
How about a slightly more unusual classic like Helen, Helena or Celia? Maybe Harriet or Maria.

I second Alexandra! Elisabeth and Alexandra sounds very regal!

Alternatively, Anna, Alice, Grace, Hannah, Matilda, Madeline, Miriam, Honor, Eleanor, Charlotte, Faith, Catherine (it has a lot of nicknames!), Mariana or Victoria might work (depending on your surname, of course).

Iris would also sound lovely, if you don't mind having two flower names!

echo others, what dose your DH like? Also agree your current DCs have lovely strong classic names, putting something twee in the mix won’t feel right.

I have a friend with a Samuel and Elizabeth too, their third is Ivy.

Well he needs to come up with some ideas then!

Your current children’s names are strong and classic so go for another of those.
no silly ‘ie’ nicknames!

eliza and Elisabeth together?

I know. 3rd time someone’s mentioned that, I conceded immediately. I’m sleep deprived with a toddler and baby so clearly not thinking straight 😂😂
