The only Kenton I've ever heard of is Kenton Archer. Didn't Phil and Jill name Kenton and Shula by throwing Scrabble letters in the air and seeing how they fell?

timoteigirl · 12/03/2025 20:37

Kenton is one of the town names, isn't it? Like Keaton etc. Seems quite unimaginative.

Not very often I have such a strong ‘noooooooo’ reaction. It’s the name of a very undesirable area in the north east. If you live anywhere near Newcastle then avoid at ALL costs!

Was looking for this comment...... first thing I thought of!

DalzielOrNoDalzielAndDontPascoe · 12/03/2025 12:12

It sounds like the Aldi own-brand 'tribute' version of Kenco coffee.

MummytoE · 12/03/2025 12:09

I don't say this lightly, but it might be one of the worst names I've ever heard

JuneySunshine · 12/03/2025 12:08

Reminds me of Renton and Trainspotting

And I think he'd get Ken/ Kenneth type teasing

Wehavealaughdontwe · 03/03/2025 20:00

It's an area of Newcastle that absolutely nobody wants to be named after

Nobody will call him Kenton. Ever. He'll be Kenny. Always.

Dutchhouse14 · 03/03/2025 23:41

No, not keen sorry

SnowFrogJelly · 03/03/2025 23:28

The Archers!

mummysmagicmedicine · 03/03/2025 23:02

Not a big fan personally don’t think it really flows as a name. Think Keaton flows better. But if you like it go for it!

bluesatin · 03/03/2025 21:54

It's also a village in Devon, quite near Exeter. My great-great grandfather is buried there.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 03/03/2025 20:27

We have a 'Keaton' at school. Nice lad, but really AWFUL name...

ScrambledSmegs · 03/03/2025 20:10

My parents used to live there. It's a district in North London. DM claims it was a better area than Kingsbury but I can't say there was much difference.

Have you got a thing for Metroland?

Boodahh · 03/03/2025 20:03

Sounds like the name of a town or village sorry

If she was then surely she wouldn't want to call him Kenton!

ChorusOfDisapproval · 03/03/2025 20:01

My neighbour's house is called Kenton.
