I actually know a lot more males called Casey than I do females so I’ve always thought of it as more masculine!

As long as your surname isn't Jones there's nothing wrong with it.

Or first time Justin, last name Fell

Firebird83 · 14/10/2025 16:57

I prefer Carey / Cary

I have a son called Casey 🥰

Busted2006 · 29/03/2025 20:11

Sorry- she spells it Kasey

Busted2006 · 29/03/2025 20:10

Nah not for me, too feminine. I know a Kacey who is a girl

GrimGusset · 29/03/2025 18:00

Nay. Plenty of other much better names out there. The person I know who is named Casey hates his name and how it’s so undefined as either a male or female name. I’d only known Casey as a female name before him.

He’s frequently been assumed to be female in written correspondence, addressing him as Ms instead of Mr or being invited to a women’s networking event. He contacted them by email and said that he’d love to attend but he’s a man so was he actually invited? They apologised and said no, and he suggested that they improve where they get their mailing list from.

For about 15 years the pathology place that processed his blood tests had him recorded as female and so his results were assessed against the female ranges of normal values. He didn’t notice and nor did his GP. I think it might have been when he had a sperm count done that the mistake was detected.

Pick a name that isn’t ambiguous unless you’re okay with making your child deal with that for their whole life.

I always thought it was a boy's name but that's probably because I am from a generation that watched Casey Jones on the TV and he was a man!

ARainyNightInSoho · 29/03/2025 17:45

Steamin' and a rollin'

Chunkilumptious · 29/03/2025 17:36

Nay for me. Just not much to it, sorry. Fine if it's a family name but not really otherwise.

moonshinepoursthroughmywindow · 29/03/2025 17:34

It's not really my style, but I like it much better for a bit than a girl. I picture him as being quite chilled and outdoorsy somehow.

Lovelynames123 · 21/03/2025 13:52

I like Kacey in Yellowstone, it's a yes from me!

I know two little boys called Casey, one is 2 the other is almost 1 so perhaps it’s growing in popularity?
it suits both of the boys I know.

littleoranges · 20/03/2025 16:13

love!!!!

IDontHateRainbows · 01/03/2025 05:37

Only ever known male Caseys. One spelt Kacie but I'm not keen on that spelling, looks like Katie.

LilacPony · 01/03/2025 05:32

Its lovely. But yes admittedly to me it’s a boy name and I’ve only known boys with the name.

user1492757084 · 01/03/2025 05:23

Casey is fine for a boy's name.
I know one young man called Casey and one called Case.
They don't know each other.
Both get called Case.

SnowyintheATL · 01/03/2025 01:36

My dad’s middle name is Casey. Can’t stand the man but love that name.

BraverThanTheyThink · 01/03/2025 00:00

I like it, it gives off good vibes to me.
If I didn't know, I'd assume Caseywould be a male.

YoureAMeanOneMrGrinch · 28/02/2025 23:43

It's my 7 year old sons name so I obviously love it

I only know of male Caseys so it's a boy's name for me

Blondebrownorred · 28/02/2025 22:47

Reminds me of the Love Island winner this year (also a man)
