Feels like potentially a less popular Jude? Just not sure if it has the same charm in my opinion.

I love it it's one of my favourites, but then again so is Jude

Ilovemyshed · 04/03/2025 20:41

Sleepless in Seattle

Emanwenym · 04/03/2025 20:37

I love the Tom Jones song but not the name.

SemperIdem · 04/03/2025 20:30

I think “won’t care” is possibly more accurate than “won’t know” @Emanwenym.

Delilah is very popular, despite the Biblical connotations (and those bloody songs by Tom Jones and The Plain White T’s).

Jasper is apparently a colloquial term for wasp in some areas of the UK, hasn’t put people off the name overall.

Let’s hope he never wants to work on a ship.

Emanwenym · 04/03/2025 20:17

The number of things that according to MN today's babies won't be aware of defies belief.

i know a couple of little ones, really like it. I didn't know it is supposedly unlucky. and neither will his peers I imagine.
Eons better than Jude.

Well, that’s on you. No reason why his peers won’t know, though.

Not for me. The bad luck connotations and that people say it to someone who is not wanted to be around eg. 'ah clear off, you're a right Jonah!'.

In all my life I have never heard anyone say this phrase! …anyway @HollyYates i love the name!

timoteigirl · 04/03/2025 19:37

I like it way more than Jude.

Emanwenym · 04/03/2025 08:05

Whale and bad luck. It's still much better than Jude.
(Hey Jude, Jude the Obscure, Jude law, Jue Bellingham, Judy, Star of David)

Timeistightagain · 04/03/2025 00:01

Oh Jonah is a brilliant name.

It's full of character and your baby Jonah would grow into a really interesting person.

I.used to really like Jude but not so much now. Tbh I think Jude Law put me off it rather.

everychildmatters · 03/03/2025 23:57

I immediately think of "and the whale."

kezzykate · 03/03/2025 23:42

Love it. I also like Jude but prefer Jonah.

ThisMustBeMyDream · 03/03/2025 23:36

I love it! So much so, I have one myself 🤣. He's 9. He loves his name. No nicknames here either. He's just Jonah.

NearlyThere91 · 03/03/2025 23:33

Oh I much prefer Jude! Feels way more crisp

Moreteaandchocolate · 27/02/2025 21:34

Love it! Prefer to Jude.

Mumof2girls2121 · 27/02/2025 21:32

I like it

AutumnColours9 · 27/02/2025 21:18

I love it

Umbrellah · 27/02/2025 21:18

Nice, but could be pronounced differently in a few languages if that matters to do. Eg German speaking would say Yoh-na rather than “J”.

Ddakji · 27/02/2025 21:18

Whale
Bad luck
