For a boy. Thoughts?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Enough4me · 18/02/2025 01:06

No, but Zach or Max are similar and lovely names.

Is Paxton not a make of gravy granules or fish dressing - I'm sure its a food brand of some description, or am I thinking of something similar?

Google is my friend the name I'm thinking of is Paxo - Sage & Onion stuffing, and yes they also make gravy and fish dressing.

It's a bit close for my liking - whoops!

1smallhamsterfoot · 18/02/2025 01:05

Anglo saxon

Unredchat · 18/02/2025 01:04

Objectively though, I've no idea why it's not a good name. Like Sharon. Really strong name

Unredchat · 18/02/2025 01:03

I know someone with that surname and he's nicknamed sacko

ItsFreedomBabyYeah · 18/02/2025 01:02

I love it! Manly & strong sounding name

Even worse, my cousin named hers Paxton.

Everyone in the family like WTF?!

No Op sorry.

Socks-on
Sacks-on
Sex-on, Sex-off

Sorry Op i think there are too many ways for it to become a joke. And I've never heard of the band.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 18/02/2025 00:33

I get your thoughts - since Jaxon is popular, then why not Saxon? 2 reasons - sadly possible white supremacy links (Anglo-Saxon); but just as likely that many think it’s not the best idea for go for a name that’s only one letter from “Sexon” once boys become pre-teens/teenagers imo.

But if it’s the strong “X” sound you are after then I think Axel is becoming more popular?

IdaGlossop · 17/02/2025 22:44

I have only once met a Saxon. I like it. Solid, unusual, definitely male.

WhatTheKey · 17/02/2025 22:43

mewkins · 17/02/2025 22:39

Yes I thought this too

Me too.

LuluBlakey1 · 17/02/2025 22:42

Awful.

WitcheryDivine · 17/02/2025 22:41

It’s an Alsatian in Hot Fuzz.

For a person it depends whether you’re white supremacists? If you’re not, do you want to sound like you are?

sorry OP back to the drawing board I think.

CakeIsNotAvailable · 17/02/2025 22:39

I'd just think about the Doctor Who baddie every time I saw him. It's a no from me!

mewkins · 17/02/2025 22:39

Greenfencebrowntree · 17/02/2025 22:20

Like Elon Musk's son. Sounds (unrelatedly) like something an American white supremacist would name their child.

Yes I thought this too

foreverbasil · 17/02/2025 22:39

My picture didn't post. Not sure if it's a delay following all the issues. It was a photo of the band Saxon....which is the first thing I thought of....sadly

foreverbasil · 17/02/2025 22:37

ThatThisThatYou · 17/02/2025 22:21

Ball Saxon. That’s what he’ll be called at school.

Growlybear83 · 17/02/2025 22:21

Saxon???? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Don't be cruel!

Mrsp2b33 · 17/02/2025 22:21

I love it!!!

CarpetKnees · 17/02/2025 22:20

Another no from me.

Sometimeswinning · 17/02/2025 22:19

He’d be called Sax for short. We’re one vowel away from sex. He’ll be destroyed at school! Jaxon instead?

DappledThings · 17/02/2025 22:15

It's the dog in Hot Fuzz.

What will his siblings be? Celt and Angle?
