Middle name for Opal?

Hi all,

We’re choosing the name Opal for our little girl, we love the name.
However, cannot for the life of me find a middle name that I love. DP says all my suggestions are “nice” but I want one that I just know is right.
We’ve gone through all family members and can’t find a name there that we love.

Any suggestions please?
Surname is one syllable.

The spiritual property of Opal gemstones is emotional healing.

Other healing names include
Althea
Elethea
Meditrina

Or names that mean “Light” would have a nice joint meaning
Aurora
Helena
Eleanor

That’s why we love the name so much. She will bring so much healing into our world 🥰 I love Aurora x

My modern thought was that it reminds me of that hair treatment....what's it called?
........

Olaplex

That’s something my dyslexic DP would say 😂 that stuff is absolute gold for your hair! x

I don't think anyone under the age of 30 has even heard of opal fruits...

They really haven’t.
I’m 32 and I was 6 when they rebranded to Starburst.
That’s why I’m not concerned with the connection 😂 plus, it’s not a negative connection should anybody older than me point it out x

I love the name Opal. I agree with pp about it not mattering about the flow of a name as basically no one apart from new parents use whole names. As long as it doesn't sound silly or make a dumb set of initials just choose the name you like the most. You aren't a marketing executive trying to make a fancy brand.
I also like it when names sound a bit random.

Thank you! Before we knew she was a girl we’d picked our boys full name but the initials spelt SAD 😂 x

I don’t think you have anything to worry about with regards to Opal Fruits. I’m 34 and only know them as Starbursts. Anyone under 60 will probably have adapted to the new name!

Agree I'm 32 and don't know what Opal fruits are...those who do are showing their age 🤣

Yeah same, I’m 32 and so far it’s only those around my parents age that are making the connection.
As a name itself, it’s a lovely name so I’m happy with that. x

Are you really 100% set on this name?

Do you think your little girl will thank you for naming her Opal?

Sorry, not trying to be rude @xRobin it's just not a great name. No-one will think of the pretty gemstone, all they will think of is opal fruits. And... well, I just wouldn't call her this. Sorry. JMO.

We love the name, it’s a very nice name.
Plus, I don’t think the connection is negative one thankfully ☺️
I know a little girl called Aubrey who is nicknamed Strawberry Aubrey 😂 maybe they can start a fruity group x

With our surname, it would sound like her middle name was “More” 🙁 x

Sapphire?

Or a name that means something to you, like a loved relative or close friend?

Middle names rarely get used or heard, so all in all it doesn't really matter. I always think it's nice to honour a loved one with middle names, no matter if it flows nicely or what.

That’s what I believe with middle names too!
My daughter has my late Nanna’s middle name.
All other grandparents names won’t have my daughter thanking me for passing the name on 😂 x

Thank you for your opinion.
We love the name ☺️ and everyone we’ve mentioned it to so far has said it’s a lovely name and goes really well with her sister’s name.
Only my Dad has made the “Opal Fruit” comment so far and he’s in his 60’s.
Luckily Starburst and Skittles didn’t make our list x
