Currently expecting twins, boy and girl!

We really love the name and are pretty much set on Navy for our boy however struggling on what to name our girl.

We love Romy however think they sound too similar?

Navy is an interesting choice!
If you're set on that though then I think Romy is absolutely fine with it.
Congratulations

Pigsinblankets13 · 28/01/2025 05:47

I think Navy and Romy are fine together !

Although as PP said Navy seems to be used more commonly for girls so depends whether that bothers you!?

marshmallowfinder · 28/01/2025 05:23

Summer and Honey are nice. Raine is awful as is Ayla (ailer, ailment, ailing.) Navy is a rather strange name, but there are far worse! Romy is nice too. How about Clover? Their names don't actually need to go together though. Don't forget that!

Twins, Navy and ..

Bianca
Scarlett
Lilac
Shelley
Faerlie
Amber
Honor

I prefer Navy as a nick name. Do you like... Navil, David, Neville, or Navarro?

I think Navy will be called the nick name - Blue.

Moreteaandchocolate · 27/01/2025 18:27

Romy is fab - it’s not perfect with Navy but ok. https://names.darkgreener.com/#navy Navy was given to 48 boys in the UK in 2023 - so it is a name that’s used for boys.

Ayla is the best with Navy from your list. I also like Summer.

Navy just isn't a name
consider your son age 7, 14, 40...
just call him David or Ben fgs

David or Ben? How boring.

I find those names so dull.

Every name was made up at some point OP. I don't love navy but wouldn't judge anyone for using an unusual name. I love honey from your list though!

BootballJoy · 27/01/2025 18:16

I don't think Navy and Romy sound similar. You could go for Navy and Romilly?

Navy and Summer also works

NefiBlw · 27/01/2025 18:12

Roger for the girl?

twiddleit · 27/01/2025 18:10

delilabell · 27/01/2025 16:54

I love summer, bambi and honey.
How about wren or lark?

Ha ha ha ha

Imagine calling them...Navy! Lark!

Have to be a certain age I guess...

Snorlaxo · 27/01/2025 18:07

If you go for Bambi then people will assume that you’re a Molly-Mae fan.

I would avoid Navy - if you like a colour name then there’s much better ones out there. I would imagine that the name would have the piss taken out of if he joined the forces

24Dogcuddler · 27/01/2025 18:04

Congratulations expecting twins. Never come across Navy before as a name. Googled and it is mainly a girl’s name in the US.
I know you are set on it, certainly unique but if it does become popular here could be for girls? Just a thought.

Love Romy. Hate Navy. Might as well go with Army & Navy

This is mean but true!

I hope the Op isn't too offended and just takes our sage advice on Navy!

I always say - imagine your child grows up to be a judge.

"All rise for Judge Navy"....

NefiBlw · 27/01/2025 17:55

For the girl: Amber, Scarlett, Emerald, Rose, Violet, Ruby, Jade, ...

Davy is nice.

Are you naming him after me? Wink

MedusaAndHerFavourites · 27/01/2025 17:55

Navy makes me think of burley, tattooed, rum swigging, syphilis riddled sailors.

Raine is lovely, Romy is alright - the rest are a bit insipid.

notatinydancer · 27/01/2025 17:51

You can't have Wren. A wren is a female Navy sailor.

Billyblue47 · 27/01/2025 17:51

I don't hate Navy. I'm surprised that I don't hate it but I don't.

Have you considered something like Indigo for a girl. Nickname indi. Maybe violet or Amber. Keep it colour themed

pimplebum · 27/01/2025 17:47

Navy not good idea
Bambi horrendous name it is a doe eyed deer whose mum gets shot ?!!

Pyjamatimenow · 27/01/2025 17:44

Navy? What’s the thought process there?

Frostine · 27/01/2025 17:44

TeenLifeMum · 27/01/2025 17:40

Imagine if Navy wants to join the RAF 😂 sorry, but I’m sure you’re aware it’s a weird name. I like Romy and there’s some fab cute names above.

Haha great minds !

Frostine · 27/01/2025 17:42

Imagine if Navy wanted to have a profession in the forces - Army , Navy or RAF .
They would get an awful amount of flack which ever they chose .
