Casper/Jasper/something else

Thoughts on Casper/Jasper?
What do they evoke?
Would like something kind of fancy sounding (other child's name is mildly aristocratic - miss me with the judgement, they're just the sort of names we like/have in the family)
Also, I know Casper reminds everyone of the ghost, but I don't really see that as a big deal 🤷‍♀️

Wonder if both names are just a bit too common now, seem to be quite a few Jaspers around anyway.

Would love your thoughts, or alternative ideas.

Thanks! :-)

I still can't get past Casper the Ghost.

I like Jasper

I like the name Jasper although I do think you need a bit of a certain lifestyle to carry it off well (the 'aristocratic' one as you put it!). Casper got me evokes either the ghost or a scandi feel (maybe that would be Kasper though?).
Since they're both derived from the name of the wise man who brought gold, I'd be most temped by them if the baby was born around January 5th, but that's just me.

I like both, and neither have any strong associations (other than the ghost). Jasper’s is solidly in the top hundred and adding up the various spellings of Caspar puts it just outside the top hundred so also well used enough not to have major associations. I like both, and prefer Caspar.
