What are your thoughts on Anson for a baby boy?

I have previously only known it as a surname but I was reviewing historic files at work today at saw it as a first name - and I love it!!

My only reservation is that it might be too similar to Hanson (a la MmmBop) and I would prefer a Scottish name.

DH and I have just started TTC so I’m going to add it to my names note 🤞🏼

Round here it’s definitely a surname, belonging to Lord Lichfield and his family.

Yes, I agree with the posters suggesting Ansel. Or even Anselm.

But I think Anson sounds a bit like "ants in yer pants."
