Middle name for Ella

Finally settled on the name Ella , I appreciate it’s popular along with all the other E names at the moment but it is literally the only name my husband and I can agree we both like.

Our first child has a middle name so we’d like to give new baby one too however we have no family names or anything that stands out. Not sure I’m loving any of the below combinations would like opinions?

So far we’ve come up with -
Ella Madeliene
Ella Sophia
Ella Grace (probably too popular?)

Also a bit out there -
Ella Sloane
Ella James

Sorry for your loss.

Theoldwoman · 03/01/2025 03:21

We recently lost our beautiful Ella. She was 21 and loved her name!

She was Ella Charlotte.

I probably would’ve had Ella Grace but our surname is too similar to Grace.

If you haven’t double barrelled your kids surname then maybe use which ever of your surnames isn’t the surname as the middle name.
Or perhaps a mothers maiden name if you’d like them to remember some family history in the future.

Ella Rae
Ella Dawn
Ella Kate
Ella Beth

I think Ella goes well with the middle names ending in A.

I really don’t like the name Sophia but Ella Sophia goes best out of your suggestions, maybe a different name ending in A.

MayaPinion · 03/01/2025 02:26

I love Ella Penelope, though do you have a parent/grandparent name or variation that might fit the bill?

SavingTheBestTillLast · 03/01/2025 02:21

Very difficult to comment productively without the surname

otherwise it’s just Ella vamess 🥴

Jeeeeez · 03/01/2025 02:17

Just don't make the mistakes two of my friends did by naming their daughter Ella after their son was Sam.

Wowserme · 02/01/2025 23:00

Ella Mae has a nice ring to it 😊

Mumofgirls2017 · 02/01/2025 22:55

Ella is nice but it's a diminutive. Therefore, I think you need a whole/traditional name for a middle name:

Harriet
Margot
Penelope
Felicity
Cordelia
Charlotte
Juliette
Christabel
Serena
Verity
Victoria

Talkwhilstyouwalk · 02/01/2025 22:20

Grace, Rose, Marie

Grace is a popular middle name because it works so well with so many names!

Onlyvisiting · 02/01/2025 22:18
