He have a two year old boy called Atticus and a daughter on the way, due in April.
we have a small list that we have agreed on but would love to hear your thoughts and any other suggestions 🙂

So far we have:
Amara
Imogen
Lyra
Ivy
Hazel
Luna
Autumn

Middle name will likely be Rose (I know it is popular but it is after my late grandmother).

Amara - nothingy
Imogen - fine
Lyra - don't like it
Ivy - don't like it, not good with Rose
Hazel - ok but Hazel Rose seems sily
Luna - cat or small non-shedding dog
Autumn - not keen, Autumn Rose too much like a type of flower

I think you need a stronger name, especially with such a common middle name.

Harper!

Snowmanscarf · 30/12/2024 11:01

Hazel, Autumn or Imogen from your list.

Tilly
Maisie
Marnie
Zara
Ruth
Vanessa
Abigail

ZoyaTheDestroyer · 30/12/2024 11:41

How odd to suggest Finch but not Scout (or indeed Jean-Louise)!

Anyway, from your list, Imogen or Lyra. Amara and Autumn are too matchy with Atticus.

HoppingPavlova · 30/12/2024 11:44

Scout🤣

Scout

Jeeeeez · 30/12/2024 13:28

Every other Ivy will be an Ivy Rose (if not then Grace/May) which makes it dull and overused compared to Atticus.

Mumofgirls2017 · 30/12/2024 13:53

Finch

Acacia.

Sounds like a seaside bungalow!

Atticus reminds me of a hot and stuffy roofspace as well as Atticus Finch.

clarrylove · 30/12/2024 14:13

Romily, Winter or Lyssia.

LoudPlumDog · 30/12/2024 14:15

Hazel from your list.

Suggestions:

Layla
Karla
Daphne
Saskia
Heather

With respect, I asked for suggestions and opinions on potential girl names. I did not ask for opinions on my sons name.

Atticus and Marlowe is my top, others:

(i'm loving the M to go with Atticus - it feels right)
Mara
Melody
Maeve

theduchessofspork · 31/12/2024 00:40

I love Atticus -

Of your girl’s name’s I’d go for Imogen

Ivy is v overused, all the Luna/Lyra/Lola/Lena/Leila names are similarly overused en masse and blur into each other - I think she’d feel a bit short changed next to Atticus.

Amara is a bit nothingy and Autumn a bit hello mag. There’s nothing intrinsically wrong with Hazel but it always seems spiky to me.

I love PP’s Olympia suggestion and I like Genevieve a lot too (Marlowe, on the other hand, is awful).

also maybe

Verity
Clio
Jocelyn
Cordelia
Rosaria / Rosario
Ianthe
Cecile / Cecily / Cecilia
Diana
Circe
Iseult
Athene / Athena
Allegra
Marianne
Persephone
Yolanda
Eloise
Felicity
Christabel
Adela
Cassia
Hera
Juno
Ariadne (Ari)

OccasionalHope · 31/12/2024 00:44

Imogen

BadgerInDungarees · 31/12/2024 00:48

The atticus I know has a sister called Greta.

I like Imogen or Lyra from your list.
