Mirrin/Mirin/Mirren 14 day old baby girl

Help us decide on the spelling! It took long enough to choose her name but we now have options on the spelling 😫 - I didn’t expect this bit to be so hard😅

Mirren for sure.

Though you could also consider the Irish Muireann (pr Mwirrin) :-)

Mirren is the least bad of them. Miriam is nice as is Maryam.

Also going back a bit to when my gran was young…. girls in Scotland named Marion were sometimes nicknamed Mirren. .. it was never written so don’t know how to spell it …just because it was quicker and easier to say.

Yes I agree with this .. in Scotland it would be Mirren. Same as the actress Helen Mirren.

Mirren comes from Scottish Gaelic. St. Mirren is a Scottish football team. The original St . Mirin was written with only one ‘r’ and there is a chapel dedicated to him in Paisley abbey.

I agree with 'LadyMonicaBaddingham'. When I read this, drinking Japanese rice wine or talking about the actress. Maybe come up with more names.

Please don't go for Mirin, as that is a type of Japanese table sauce. Either of the other varients is lovely - but be prepared that she will possibly be mistaken as Miriam (also a beautiful name), especially by older generations.
