bobby maison reid???

we are having a lil boy wat do you think of this name, reid is the surname.
but would you spell it mason or maison?

i think it sounds hick, redneck, white trash and trailer park.

but he'd fit right in in my home state of Texas.

This is the 3rd thread in about two weeks about the name Mason so likely that it's getting very popular.
Incidentally I think it's worth informing yourself on the connotations of the name Mason.

Have to agree with the others, Mason is a really chav name.
Not mad on Bobby either. What about William (who could then be known as Billy?)

Of course they were actually called Robert. None of them were known as Robert though (except De Niro, of course, but he's known as Bobby to his friends - I've read enough about him to know this). My son's called Robert too, but we don't use the name. He's not Robbie or Rob (too blokish), he's Bobby.

Would definately go with Robert as the name - it gives him more options when he is older (eg he may want to be Robert at work), and you can always use Bobby in the family to distinguish between him and your dp.

I would also prefer Bobby as a nickname and Robert (or even Robin?) as the real name.

Mason is fine (definitely not Maison!)

Bobby Darin, Bobby Kennedy, Bobby De Niro ... Nothing to do with sport. I think it's such a cool name.

I don't like Bobby on its own, sounds like it's named after Bobby Charlton (not a fan of sports-inspired names, esp football.)

Love the name Bobby. My son's 8 and the only Bobby in his school. A Bobby could be plumber, a lawyer or an actor and the name would still fit. I love it. Don't like Mason though.

Maison would be pronounced by a lot of people as May-zon, as it'a a French word.
