Eric, Patrick or Adrian? Help me please!

Hi everyone! I am looking for a boy's name that starts with E as my name is Elsa. I like names that are not very common in the classroom like Liam, Oliver etc. I prefer a name that is elegant, strong and with a British and international sound too. Which of the following combinations sounds interesting to you? :-)
I am open to other suggestions of names too. So Far, I like Eric, Patrick and Adrian.

Eric Patrick
Eric Adrian

Simon used his father's name for his son. I think that's nice.

Edward/Teddy is very popular.
I know loads of Ethans. Not sure why so many.
Evan and Elliott seem nice but a bit wet, although the ones I know aren't.

FWIW to me Eric is bananaman! Or the organisation that helps toilet training.

But I do know a few toddler Erics (also Simon cowell's son is an Eric I think) so I think it's definitely coming back into fashion.

I’ve never thought of my friend’s three-year-old Eric as Bananaman! Now, the actor Eric Bana on the other hand…

I know a three year old Eric and his name suits him. I think it might be ready to become fashionable again, like Arthur or Stanley. I’ve met very few elderly Erics, so I don’t see it as an “old” name in the same way as, say, Kenneth, Derek or Roger.

I'm personally not a fan of Eric but my DS is a Jude and I doubt you like that, based on your taste.

From the amount of times I've seen it suggested on here lately I can only assume Eric is having a comeback, which makes its simultaneously both and old man name and probably overused for babies 😅. I have never met an Eric of any age, the only ones I know of in my family would have been born around 1900- 1940 So def not a modern or fresh name.
However if you like it, it's fine!

Personally if an E name is a requirement then I'd prefer Elijah, Elliot (it's fine, except for the phone home reference and I'm probably dating myself there), and Elias, mostly as I really like the NN Eli.

If you want a strong and traditional name- what about Edward ?

Of your other names I like patrick

Just so you know, AI only functions because people like myself in the IT industry write algorithms and give commands to computers. There are always people behind it. AI does not have its own life.😂

Eric is awful. It’s just awful. It’s not like a classic name that stands the test of time like Edward, Arthur, Henry or William. To me it’s just a dated old man’s name like Barry, Norman, Reg, Derrick, Ken etc.

It would be like calling a newborn girl Brenda or Maureen.

@Moveoverdarlin I don't think so! These names you mentioned are just too boring, and in the classroom, there are plenty of them!!! I find the name Eric will be different from others. It sounds quite modern, bold and strong.

Eric is a cartoon character name normally the bafooon, if that is wot u r looking for it’d b perfect.

@Skybluepinky I don't care about cartoons and maybe this reference makes more sense to old people and not the young generation. Those being born now, so that is irrelevant to me. So much so that by the time the baby is older these people referring to such cartoons might not even be alive.

@WalterdelaMare The term "geek" has a few meanings, but generally, it refers to someone very passionate or highly knowledgeable about a particular subject, often related to technology, computers, or niche interests like science fiction, gaming, or pop culture. Coming from the AI industry myself, I find your comment to be a great compliment. As for terrible, I find this statement quite strong and without even a justification makes no sense to me. I find these names quite cool and that's the reason they are on my list.

I'm not keen on Eric. It is an old man name to me, (maybe it's coming back into fashion I have teens so I wouldn't know)

Isnt it also short for erection?

I would agree that Adriansare 60 years old. I associate it with Adrian Mole

Patrick is nice

Elliot isn't an old man name. The two I know are in their teens.

Eric is a great name. I live in Scandinavia and it's very cool and fresh name here. Same with Elliott, I know a couple that has a Max and Elliott and they are gorgeous.

Btw I think it's very rude for some people to comment saying that the name is ugly or horrible etc. When you have specifically said you are considering it. When you're pregnant the hormones make you very vulnerable and these kind of comments are not helpful. Try to ignore this and dont let them put you off the name. You will never find a name that everyone likes and your choices are really good. Go with Eric, it is strong and handsome!
