Ester or Zehava

I like both but worry Ester will be spelt as 'Esther'. It'll be after a relative that's passed on so it has to be Ester (nickname Essie)

I also like Zehava. It means Golden Smile

Ester. Everywhere is multicultural now so not an issue it’s not the traditional (for us) spelling.

Both names are lovely. For what it’s worth, I would spell the first name ‘Ester’ any other spelling would be unusual.
Whether or not the spelling is considered odd will entirely depend on the geographical location/origin/worldliness of the person making the judgement. So try not to worry.

Ester is an unusual spelling - it’s usually spelled Esther. It’s a lovely name.

Don't force your poor child to spend their life going 'no, you spell it like this'

Use as a middle name.to honour your relatives

Ester isn't an unusual spelling

Yes, give your child a strange spelling, it will be spelt wrong more often than not. Your choice though. Don't be one of those parents who are awkward for the sake of it. If it will worry you - don't choose it.

I've lived all my life with a strange name that sounds like a common one. I've even had banks tell me I'm wrong! And my Post Office Travel Card was put in the wrong name even though she'd seen my passport!

Yes Ester will sonetimes be to Esther. Don't let that spoil it for you.

Ester (Essie) is lovely. It will get spelled Esther, but I prefer it to Zehava.
