Baby coming tomorrow by ELCS. We still can’t decide. I don’t LOVE either of them, but they are the only two my husband and I can agree on. I personally want Jude and he wants Cooper. So it’s either;

Rory or Nathaniel NN Nate

We already have a DS Miles

his nickname for short was actually "Nathe"

I think Nathe is the most intuitive shortening of Nathan or Nathaniel.

Nat is short for Natalie or Natalia

Alectoishome · 23/09/2024 15:08

They are both lovely names! Either would be so nice.
I dislike Jude and Cooper.

Catandsquirrel · 23/09/2024 15:07

Probably Rory would be my final call. Close though Nathaniel isn't massively to my taste but I think Nate and Nat are lovely.

I really dislike Cooper as a given name

Good luck with the birth!

@Beepeony just thought I'd say, I have a brother called Nathan.. his nickname for short was actually "Nathe" don't know why but my mum preferred that I think.. however the actual shorted nickname for Nathan is Nate.. and it's my little boy's middle name as a tribute to his uncle 😊 I personally prefer Nathan over nathaniel, but you go with the name YOU feel like is best for your baby! Goodluck for tomorrow 💙

Nathan or Nathaniel but NOT Nate

Sleepnplay · 23/09/2024 14:58

Oh two of my absolute favourites.

Dd may well have had one of these if she'd been a boy, but at 4 still struggles with her r's. In hindsight, Rory wouldn't have been a good choice in her instance!

I'd go Nathaniel. I think it's a beautiful name, and love Nat, Nate and even Nathan as shortenings.

Nathaniel makes me think of black adder. Nathaniel will have his turnip as God intended Grin

Rory vs Nathaniel (Nate)

Nate is grim. Another vote for Nathan.

Hohofortherobbers · 23/09/2024 14:52

Prefer Nathan to Nathaniel

MerryMarys · 23/09/2024 14:46

Many people struggle with their R and Rory is difficult to pronounce

Is choose Nathaniel
