Flower names

I have fallen into flower names for my girls and have a Rose, a Daisy and a Poppy, pregnant again and feel I have to continue the theme but have kind of run out. Any suggestions? Not a fan of Iris or Hycinth.

Jonquil - it sounds so calm and peaceful!

merryhouse · 14/09/2024 11:56

Given the cultural style of the three you have already, I'd say Lily, Violet or possibly Jasmine.

Ideas for a boy: Lupin (bit too Potterish?), Aloe, Flax, Indigo, Rowan, Aster, Oleander, Calyx, Florian, Campion, Heath, Yarrow. Bit of a mix there.

Rowan is nice for a boy. Lily is lovely. Marigold?

Daisy and Poppy are their first names? Is that what you mean?

Are Daisy and Poppy their given names or nicknames?

Not sure it’s a girl yet no, but I feel a track record of three makes a 4th likely!

Lily is of course an obvious one, not sure why I didn’t think of it! Enjoying hearing other suggestions though

It's always 50/50 though regardless of how many you've got. There are some lovely botanical/nature names for boys so I would start compiling a list of those too.

For girls, I love Lily and Jasmine. They both go nicely with your others. I'll add Iris, Hazel, Viola.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 14/09/2024 08:59

Hebe
Iris
Heather
Azalea

I think Violet is perfect but also love Marigold and Zinnia.

Gustavo1 · 14/09/2024 08:23

Fleur?

are you sure it’s a girl? How about some botanical boys names too?

I like this thread. Flower names are so beautiful.

I think the most obvious choice with your other girls would be Lily

Hazel
Posy
Saffron
Lilac

I'd go for Saffron nn Saffy! But I like all of those. Some flower names aren't actually that pretty as words but I think these are!

My favourite flower name would be Lily with your girls names. Jasmine, Flora and Violet are also nice ideas.

Willow, Holly, Ivy or Hazel would also go really well too, if you don’t mind stretching the theme a bit.
