I do like Vada (thanks to My Girl) But Vada Blue sounds like a paint colour or species of parrot! Vada is unusual so I'd go with a more common middle name so she has the option to go by that later:

Vada Alyssa
Vada Penelope

Thank you everyone. I have giggled at many of the responses.

This is actually nothing to do with my child. I have actually just had my second child.
I needed to show my sister how people would react to Vada and this post has proved it.
If I had written thoughts on Vada for my sister etc responses may have not been as harsh lol.

I put this up to show my sister the responses to the name she really wants to call her unborn.

May the Forth due date was obviously a joke - Star Wars May the force.

I admit Vada started growing on me however too much will be said about Star Wars.

Made me laugh but if anyone has suggestions for similar to Vada let us know.
Rose was in the lineup.

Finally, yes she wanted Vada because My Girl is our film since childhood and she has always loved it.

The thing is though on here if you’re planning to call your daughter anything other than Olivia. Amelia. Isla. Ella you’re being too try hard.
I really don’t think she should be put off the name if she really likes it.
Luna for example is quite popular that seems to have survived any Lunatic jokes. Therefore I think Veda would be okay.
I’ll still list alternatives, though.

Pretty name, I’d assume you were a My Girl fan. Might get pronounced with a short A “Vad-ah” as it’s not that well known or if Star Wars gets yet another revival, she might get Darth Vader jokes (but neither is probably a huge deal).

Id go with a more classic middle name with such an uncommon first one - if it has to be one syllable then maybe Vada Eve? (nn could be Vivi!) Or if you like Blue then maybe Vada Blythe instead? Or Vada June/Juno for the sound? If you want a flower name then Vada Lily, Vada Jasmine (or Jessamine), Vada Rosalie, Vada Bryony etc.

Blue sounds trendy/celeb and Rose/May/Grace is so dull now as a middle name.
