Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I love that people are still ranting about the choices you've given at the start Makingdo, but ignored the fact you've got to Mason! lol

btw, I went to school with a Morgan - similar style to Mason - just in case you've changed your mind again

You sure you're having a boy though?! lol

I know a lot of African children who are named after things that they like or admire or are useful (Gift, Faithful and Hammer). So Appropriate would be as good but the ms would less positive!

My fave noun name was Neon. Sadly he wasn't very bright.

Bear in mind, Makingdo that Americans think Randy is a fine name too! Go for Max.

What, Appropriate? Sounds like Alias' twin sister.

Or Appropriate Brown, Capability's lesser known brother. He specialized in designing very small restrained gardens for suburban villas. Nothing too flashy that might cause the neighbours to talk......

Mason Dominic is great.

msappropriate · 19/04/2008 16:42

well thats the reaction it provoked with my friend and it used to upset them as a family.

belgo, either that or a lack of imagination or a desire to pass on the monogrammed silverware . I know a lot of americans that do that and some called them junior too

As some other posters have said, Elias is a name, but Alias isn't.

3andnomore · 19/04/2008 16:40

Alias - is that even a name? Isn't it that some people use an Alia...or am I confusing something here, lol!

zebedee (zed for short)- To Magic Roundabout for me....and just don't like

Dominic- love, and was one of the 3 names I had on my list for ds3

Maximillian (max) (my name is maxine so its the male form) - like o.k.

I like unusual names, too...my sons are called Sven , Yannic and Flynn.
Dh liked Merlin and Orion....so, I think my ds's haven't done that bad namewise, lol!

still like Mason, too, and Miles is nice aswell, and my personal total favourite is Noah but dh wouldn't let me

Also quite like Dion

belgo · 19/04/2008 16:39

I don't think it's egocentric to call your child a version of the mother's name.

After all, sons have been given the name of their fathers for centuries. Or is this alos ego centric?

no but thats what it would look like to others. A friend adopted a child with the same (diminutive) name as her 2nd husband and people who didn't know the history always commented on it. My surname would make a great first name but I could not inflict that on a child.

look, these people don't think it is a name either

msappropriate · 19/04/2008 16:25

Alias? Is is a bit egocentric to give your kid the male version of your name?

Blandmum · 19/04/2008 16:25

try again-the meaning of Alias!

Blandmum · 19/04/2008 16:23

Elias is an name.

Use Alias, and you will look as if you didn't know what I means....

Blandmum · 19/04/2008 16:22

No me Alias is 'Alias Smith and Jones' a con man using an alias to do his dreadful deeds! It really means that! \here{http://www.answers.com/topic/alias?cat=technology\for an online definition}

Sorry but I think it is a dreadful name.

In fact, Dreadful (as in Dreadful Spiller in the Borrowers) would probably be better
