Rafe - nice name

Rafferty is a bit Primrose Hill wannabe c 2002 - Raphael a better option

Ralph always makes me think of a small dog barking, it’s one of my most disliked names

maybe..

Rufus
Ronan
Robert nn Robbie or Robin

Rory is great if a bit overused, Rowan also but v overused

Ralph is handsome for a grown man... as are ..

Richard
Roland
Rupert
Robert
Rufus
Rohan
Raphael
Ross

I always think Ralph sounds like a dog barking!!

KirstenBlest · 04/09/2024 09:27

or the 'yell' bit.

I think we just have different taste. Rufus isn't too bad.

KirstenBlest · 04/09/2024 09:19

I don't like Raphael either. It's nice in theory but I don't like the 'raff' bit.

FrankieRose82 · 04/09/2024 07:24

Thank you for your responses.

Completely mixed option! Really like the Raphael suggestion - thank you.

I like Rafferty very much

HerewegoagainSS · 03/09/2024 23:26

Ralph because it is the only near normal one, but would be more fitting on a labrador.

Normallynumb · 03/09/2024 23:21

Rafferty of your choices

Waterboatlass · 03/09/2024 22:51

Dislike all but Ralph is the best of the bunch. Absolutely not Rafe. Rafferty isn't cool as a first name. Sorry.

Raphael or Rufus are lovely.

Firebird83 · 03/09/2024 22:45

Ralph

Daisybuttercup12345 · 03/09/2024 22:39

Ralph.
Really don't like any of them. Sorry x

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 03/09/2024 22:33

None are exactly my cup of tea ( my favourite R names would be gentle Rowan or quirky Rufus) - but of the three, definitely Rafe.

Ralph reminds me of vomiting (think it’s the US term for it), and Rafferty is a trendy celeb surname-as -given-name ( If you want nn Raff then Rafael is quite nice).

Mumofgirls2017 · 03/09/2024 22:31

Rafe

inthekiddle · 03/09/2024 22:01

Anything but Rafferty

Sleepnplay · 03/09/2024 21:52

Rafferty.

redtrain123 · 03/09/2024 21:44

Raffety .

To add another option, Ranulph

UltramarineViolet · 03/09/2024 21:41

Ralph

Rafe/Rafferty sound a bit pretentious/ try hard

Moreteaandchocolate · 03/09/2024 21:39

I know two gorgeous little boys called Rafferty nn Raffy, and it’s grown on me - it really suits them. I find it harder to picture on an adult though, so for that reason I’d pick Ralph, to give a more traditional option if preferred when he’s older, but still giving the nn options of Rafe, Raffy, Ray, Ralphy etc… if wanted.

Raffie is awful and sounds like Riff Raff

MerryMarys · 03/09/2024 21:23

Ralph (if I had to choose)

SomeDay01 · 03/09/2024 21:11

Rafferty. Don’t like the other two.

Kitkat1523 · 03/09/2024 21:04

If you forced me to choose one….then it would be Ralph….rafe is too pretentious…..rafferty is really awful

Firsttimebabymummy · 03/09/2024 21:00

Ralph if I had to choose one
