Sister for Aurora

I recently posted trying to choose between my favourite 2 boys names (Xander & Xavier). Surprise, surprise, we're having a girl 😂😂 Back to the drawing board as we have no names for a girl!!

I like longer names that can be shortened for nicknames (DD Aurora goes by Rory). Aurora was dad's choice and I don't love it, but I adore Rory as a nickname. Some names we've toyed with are Penelope, Persephone, Felicity, Matilda.

Help please!!!

Felicity and Matilda are nice with nn potential to match Aurora/Rory.

I'm not wild on Penelope as a full name, but do like the nn options of Nell and Penny.

Persephone is much too fussy for me and doesn't have nice nn potential. I know of a baby Persephone whose parents call her Sephie which is awful.

I'd go for Felicity out of those. Other suggestions to go with Aurora/Rory:-

Elodie
Ottilie
Florence
Lydia
Harriet
Imogen
Charlotte

I think you need something with good nickname potential to match, if you always shorten Aurora.

Some great ideas here. Also thanks to those making the nod to sleeping beauty (would you believe DH was shocked to find out that his chosen name was a disney name after DD was born 😂)

I think all the names you’ve mentioned are lovely. Other options Clementine, Margot, Scarlett, Isobel.
