Rosamund Pike - very elegant.
It's also a bonus to have a name spelled as it's said!

I really can't separate that name from Fair Rosamund, a royal mistress who (in popular legend) was killed by the king's wife. I do accept that not a lot of people would make that connection, though!

I love this. Rose of the world. I really wanted it but DH vetoed it due to having a great aunt called Rosamund (why this mattered I don't know).

Great name, and good variety of short forms with Rose, Rosie, Rosa, Roz/Ros, and then however their friends refer to them, so if/when your child wants to vary their name as they grow up, they've reasonable choice within their original name.

It's lovely. I personally like names that can be shortened according to the preference of the owner, and this can- but it's lovely in its full form.

Rosamund is a beautiful name!

I don't like shortening of names, I don't let anyone shorten my name. I have two DDs and I didn't let anyone shorten their names either.

When they were of age to use whatever version of their names they preferred, DD1 refuses to let anyone shorten her name, and DD2 has a four letter name that can't be shortened anyway!

So, I think until your DD reaches that age, and you want her to be called by her full name and not a shortened version, you just tell people her name is Rosamund, not Rose or Rosie.

I like it but she’ll likely be called Rose or Rosie, and there are an awful lot of them, so depends how you feel about that. She might be Ros/Roz I guess, but that isn’t a nice.
