I think we're finally decided on Leni for our girls name 🥰 now I just need a middle name! Nothing is jumping out at me and I don't have any family names that I'm particular keen on. Any suggestions? Surname is Lawson. Thanks! X

I think either very short:-

Leni Rose Lawson
Leni Anne Lawson

or very long:-

Leni Elizabeth Lawson
Leni Maria Lawson
Leni Alexandra Lawson

Because Leni and Lawson are both 2 syllables and both begin with L you need some sort of contrast one way or another.

@sazzlondon My DA had this name. It is pronounced Lay-ni. It’s German and usually short for Helene. Much nicer pronounced this way and it separates it from Lenny for a boy. There are numerous Germans who would be confused by not saying Lay-ni.

I’d genuinely never heard of it. Just looked it up and more boys than girls are called Leni (spelt the same) but is a unisex name. Anyway it’s massively soared in popularity so I doubt she’ll stick out!

There is going to be people slating the names and just not being nice.
Old days we had baby book names.
These days there is Google for suggestions.
If people can't be kind and suggest a name like the OP asked.. then please don't comment adversely..
P.S l love the name Leni for your daughter . Congratulations and I'm sure she will be as beautiful as her name.

why so rude? It’s not “a hell of an alliteration”, it’s just an alliteration surely.

OP, I think a lot of other names flow well with Leni - as there are no meaningful family names that spring to mind, is there anything meaningful like a flower you like that also doubles up as a name.

otherwise, any names on your shortlist that you’d like to use as well?

I have an alliteration name, gained on marriage and gave dd one too. It's fine.

Gotta say I love Leni as a name, I desperately tried to persuade a friend to name her dd Leni, but she chose Sienna (where's the bluh emoji when you need it)!
