My aunt is Elizabeth, known as Lizzie. I have 2 friends that are Elizabeth, one is Liz, one Eliza.

I love all of those shortenings but really loathe Libby or Beth.

My DD is Eliza, Lizzie and Lizziebeth. Although one of the reasons for choosing the name was that I love all the possible shortenings and she can choose how she wants to be called when she's older.

The Elisabeth's I know are mainly called Liz or Lizzie.

Only exception is called Biffy, apparently because she used to pronounce her name 'Liss-Bif'.

My little one is Elizabeth my plan was her nickname to be Beth or Betty but she is now 3 and everyone calls her Lizzie , that's her favourite 🤩

Cute and modern Bizzy (instead of more commonplace Lizzie) or old fashioned Bess (as in Elizabeth I “Good Queen Bess” ) .I also think trendy Effie sounds quite cool (like the character in TV’s Skins).

Sorry I couldn’t decide on just one - Elizabeth is such a fab name, partly because of all the nickname options but also as it’s the ultimate timeless classic with some amazing historical namesakes.

Elizabeth is a beautiful name. I like Eliza, Beth, Ella, Elsie, Elle, Liza, Bibi.

My Elizabeth is a Libby but I prefer Birdie. If I’d known it was an acceptable nickname for Elizabeth I’d have called her that. Although she has told me she’d have hated it 🤣
