I love Daphne. I think it has cool vibes. It would be on my list if I were to have another

salamithumbs · 31/07/2024 21:27

Daphne, I think it's lovely and it doesn't remind me of scooby doo!

MsGoodenough · 31/07/2024 19:57

I love the name Daphne. Would have been my second dd's name if she had come along.

HoldingTheDoor · 31/07/2024 19:56

Not Daphne. It’s such an incredibly ugly name.

Aglassaday · 31/07/2024 19:54

Absolutely love Daphne, I know a little girl with that name and she is adorable

Matildahoney · 31/07/2024 19:53

I like both, and I know a 9 month old Daphne!

Emmanuelll · 31/07/2024 19:51

It's lovely.

IMHO, Delphine sounds aspirational / pretentiously French.

Like, when Amelie was all the range (prob because of the film) instead of Emily.

Piers instead of, well, anything (Peter is better).

Lara instead of Laura.

Lara, Piers, Amelie, they are all trying hard to be 'classy' and because of the try-hard factor, failing.

Daphne is very soft and pretty. It makes me think of Chloe. I think it's a lovely name.

I agree. Hugo and Milo and Amelie are another few that were everywhere a few years ago and now sound silly.

BogusHocusPocus · 31/07/2024 16:34

@Malahide it's an opinion thread. That's my opinion.

Or maybe you’re just overly judgmental re: names and class by the sound of it..

DemBonesDemBones · 31/07/2024 16:15

Daphne is gorgeous. But so is Delphine! You can't go wrong with either.

Daphne is lovely!

Daphne Guinness is certainly not old and frumpy

Okayornot · 31/07/2024 15:21

I like Daphne.

Delphine was the name of my French exchange's horrid cat which bit me.

Priggishsausagebore · 31/07/2024 13:10

HettyCletter · 31/07/2024 09:52

I like both, but prefer Delphine.

Same but probably because my mum is Daphne!

kfellover · 31/07/2024 13:09

It’s beautiful but I think will become quite popular soon because of Bridgerton.

KirstenBlest · 31/07/2024 13:08

Daphne

queenofthewild · 31/07/2024 12:52

I think it's a beautiful name that's due a comeback

hazandduck · 31/07/2024 10:54

Love them both! Really love the soft ‘ph’ sound in a name. I really love Audrey too, Daphne and Audrey were my Gran’s two besties 😄
