Baby name help!

Hey!

Hoping someone can share some baby name ideas, I'm fairly particular with what I like. But can never quite describe it. I guess I like names that are slightly rarer but not bizarre or weird.

We're struggling to find name options that my partner also likes, for context these are the names I love!

Girls: Bobbie, Winnie, Juno, Romy, Goldie, Olive, Nelly.

Boys: Finley, Bodhi, Jonah.

Can people share some name ideas that are similar to my name style! Hopefully we can find some names that match, and my partner loves!

Would your partner agree to Eleanor or Helena with Nell as a short form? Penelope could also be shortened to Nell.
You might also like Wendy, Willa, Valerie, Imelda, Bryony, Seren.

Boys: Jonas, Elijah, Lionel, Harley, Rory, Daryl, Marlon.

TheBirdintheCave · 27/07/2024 07:00

What is your SO's naming style? Your girl style seems to be cutesy diminutive so if he prefers more formal names then maybe something that can deliver both?

E.g

Henrietta - Hetty
Dorothy - Dotty
Margaret - Maggie
Felicity - Flossie
Veronica - Ronnie

My own daughter is Marcella - Marcie :)

All of your girls names would be good options if you were naming a golden retriever. Unfortunately you are naming a child

I get what you mean with one of the names (Goldie being the obvious) but the others... really? Not to my taste but none of them are bad, other than the one mentioned!

The only girls' names you've listed that I would consider using are Juno and Olive.

That's great. I was more so asking for name ideas, rather than opinions on the names I like 👍🏻

Firsttimebabymummy · 26/07/2024 20:56

I only like Juno from the girls list. I do really like that one though.

Perhaps you like Cleo, Olivia (as you like Olive), Violetta, Felicity, Blair?

I prefer your Boys list and like Jonah best.
Shiloh, Forest maybe?

We have different taste tho!

I love the name Olive, if I had another girl that would be her name.
