Boys Names Starting with The Same Letter as Surname?

Hi all!
I've just found out Im going to be having a boy this time! I love names that start with C but our surname begins with C too. DH thinks its "overkill" to have two C's - what do you think? I love Callum, Christopher and Kevin (ok not a C but near enough!!!!!!).

dp's dad and brother both have forename and surname with the same letter and I never thought it was strange. I don't like Kevin either, though.

i like alliterated names. theyre memorable and pleasing to the ear. imho.

(kevin is bloody awful tho, sorry!)

Dp J,J and ds is also J,J The two 'J' names flow well with the surname!

I have a CC too - Caleb CXXX and DH is a CC too. Wasn't intentional, we just loved the name Caleb and it flows very well with our surname.

my dd1's first and last names start with the same letter

i think its FAB and COOL

they both have the same number of syllables (3) if that makes a difference, although i should nt think it does

Nothing wrong with alliterative names. Seem to do Norma Jean the world of good when she became Marilyn Munroe!

I have a C surname, my nephew is Calum. The two together do not flow in my opinion.

I wanted Campbell for a boy but it most definately sounded awful with my surname.

I do know a Christopher Cooper though, which is ok, although he is always known as CeeCee.

I think it really depends on the rest of the name. It is not something I would rule out regardless.
My position on names is that, if you find a name you and your DH like then go for it.

Cameron or connor are nice,what about a name witha hard "c" in the middle like Marcus

Christopher is good and so is Callum, tho perhaps better if you are Scottish imo. Christian is nice too. Or Cillian or Cyrus if you fancied something a bit different

Alliteration worked out fine for Christopher Columbus

I'm not keen.

Have to say Kevin is not a great name for a baby these days - most Kevins are about 40-45 now. Bit like Tracey, Trevor and Sharon (sorry)

i like finley for a boy but our surname is F and dh says fat finley f - fat chance!!

Actually i quite like it - its got a 'film star' quality to it

There a few exceptions however, for example two W's, say like Wendy Wood >>disclaimer, i am not dissing the name Wendy Wood!
