Is Zaffy a name?

Stuck for a boys name we both like. Love Raffy and Ziggy and a few others but I'm not convinced. Is Zaffy a name, have I just made that up? I quite like it! Any other similar sounding names you could recommend? Thoughts?

Or Xavier can be shortened to Zavvy, if pronounced the French way.

There are names that start with Zaf that it might be a 'nn' for.

I like it. I would spell it Zafi.

Would be great if you could find something it was for though.

Zaki is a boys name, or just Zak

Moonshiners · 16/07/2024 23:19

Sorry but it would be an awful name to have as an adult (I have a very unusual name and this is worse)

SnowFrogJelly · 16/07/2024 23:18

Nup

Vulcanodon · 16/07/2024 23:16

I know one, a boy, spelled with an i at the end.

Justyouwaitandseeagain · 16/07/2024 23:11

Zephyr / Zephy / Zeph is lovely!

Tumblingjungleofchaos · 16/07/2024 23:11

No it's a not a name but that doesn't seem to stop some people from naming their kids all sorts of made up wonders.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 16/07/2024 23:10

I guess you could have Joseph nn Sephy too? But I suspect once in high school he’ll insist on Joe.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 16/07/2024 23:08

It sounds feminine to me - as a soundalike to Saffy ( Saffron) or Sephie ( Josephine or Persephone).

Moonface31 · 16/07/2024 22:59

Zephyr isn't a million miles away? Could shorten to Zephy?

Twicethethinker · 16/07/2024 22:57

Daffy duck was also my first thought, please rethink. What about Jeffrey, nearest I can think of that's actually a name.

Underworld2 · 16/07/2024 22:55

I know a Zaf if that's any help...I think his full name is something like Zaffar

Raggeo · 16/07/2024 22:36

I used to know a Zafiros, who was of Greek origin. I guess that could be shortened to Zaffy.

understatedeleganza · 16/07/2024 22:26

😂

Thelondonone · 16/07/2024 22:25

No, it isn’t. If it was it would be for a duck.
