Daisy - too juvenile?

Expecting a baby girl and really struggling to pick a name, so far all we have agreed on is Daisy but we are worried that it's too juvenile for an adult. So what do you think is Daisy too juvenile?

Full name would be Daisy Alexandra Forbes

I like it, but I'm at least a generation older than you. My first thought was Daisy Haggard who I think is extremely talented.

It's a perfectly fine name.

Not my personal taste though. I prefer stronger sounding names so avoid anything with a diminutive ending. So for example I prefer Christina, Joanna and Paula to Christine, Joanne and Pauline.

However, my personal preferences are irrelevant. It's a decent name so go with it, OP.

I like daisy but also Margaret, also love the Peggy diminutive though I do see Su Pollard!

I like the combination of Daisy Alexandra, they balance each other. I agree with the best option being to name her Margaret or Marguerite and using Daisy as a family nickname if you want to.

I mean, it's ok. If you loved it, fine. But if you loved it would you be asking?

There's just not much to it. Daisies are nice enough but they're hardly the most exciting flower and they're totally ubiquitous. I wouldn't particularly love being called Daisy, I don't think.

Naomi or Elena are much more elegant.

I think your name list could be the same one, you have similar tastes, you just haven't hit on the right one.

I can’t stand flower names for girls. They sound very girly / unprofessional imo. I know people will disagree but whether we consciously or unconsciously do it, names are judged on CVs. I prefer strong traditional names for this reason.

Names like Alfie, Archie, Teddy, Ellie,Evie, Poppy etc will not seem juvenile when they are adults.

It's a comment on how Daisy sounds to my ear, it's not a comment about the owner if the name who (99% of the time) had no choice in the matter!

I'm happy your daughter rocks it.

I've known a couple of adult Daisies - they always seem to be quite cool/boho/creative but I don't think it would be the end of the world if one didn't. What might or might not be a bigger deal for you is that quite a lot of dogs seem to be called Daisy. I don't think it would be a deal breaker for me, but I'll always remember my brother (whose name was not popular when he was young but is more popular now) used to find it very irritating when people heard his name and said, "Oh, we used to have a dog called that."

So many girls now have very twee, little girl names, much more so than Daisy, that would have been out of place for our generation but will be totally normal for theirs.

I deal with a Daisy for work, she is well respected in the financial sphere, and I can't bring myself to call her by her name to her face. The name does not suit her professional persona. Obviously that is a 'me' problem, and I'm fine addressing her in emails.
I don't feel this way with Lilly, Rose, Iris etc.

I'm not a fan of twee names, but agree twee is now par for the course so nobody will care.

I love it. My Daisy is in her late 20s, tattooed and pierced, and her name still suits her

Daisy is too twee. Plus it's incredibly popular and is going to date. I teach about ten Daisys.

I have a Daisy (and an Iris.... I love flower names) so I'm biased but it's a beautiful name and really suits her. I also worked with a daisy and she loved her name.
