My maiden initials were HRT.

Glad I'm married!

GardenGuardian · 14/07/2024 19:01

I used to work with a guy whose last name was Allcock. His first name began with an S, but his parents did manage not to give him a middle name beginning with M…

B & J, both husband and wife 😳

I am B and my husband is J. Our photographer rearranged our lettering at our wedding!

My brother is SPF, which isn't especially bad, but he did used to hoard sunscreen as a 4-year-old, as he thought it was his.

My surname starts with a D. I wasn't going to call baby anything starting with a V.

Years ago, I used to know someone called Valarie Davies.

Houselamp · 13/07/2024 08:23

I used to work with an EWW. Who signed off all her emails 'Eww' which always seemed like a commentary on what she was writing.

We will be holding a retirement party for Duncan in the break room at lunch - Eww

Ineedaholidayagain · 13/07/2024 08:19

When I got married I became ERR or error.
My husband is NA or not applicable.
I was very careful with my kids initials!

forgotmyusername1 · 13/07/2024 08:19

We had a kid at school with the initials ARSE

His family were German

Even more unfortunate his last name was Ehrlich

So he was called Arse lick

Dontcallmescarface · 13/07/2024 08:13

whosaidtha

My boss was a BJ.

That's what makes naming difficult at times. As above, I had a colleague not called T.O.S. Serr, but something that gave exactly the same effect.
This was in the 90s and he was in his 60s so back in the 30s, when he was named, the word his name spelled out didn't exist.
In the late 70s there was a television programme called "BJ and the Bear" about Billy Joe and his pet chimpanzee. Wouldn't happen now!

She used to sign off her emails off BJ.

Agree that surely she must know - do you think she thinks it's funny?

jay55 · 13/07/2024 07:54

Middle name beginning with T, surname Watts.

whosaidtha · 13/07/2024 07:45

My boss was a BJ. She used to sign off her emails off BJ. She can't seriously not know.

TidyDancer · 13/07/2024 07:11

I used to work with someone who gave her DD the initials BO. The poor child also has a dreadful first name that is a frequently mispronounced boy's name. Neither mum or dad are known for their sense or intelligence so it's to be expected I suppose! They have an older DS with the most classic and normal boy's name imaginable so why they felt the need to saddle their poor DD with such an awful name I don't know!

FantasticFox27 · 13/07/2024 07:07

My MP Neil O'Brien. Known in our house as NOB

autienotnaughty · 13/07/2024 06:59

Not quite the same but I explained to a friend why calling Bryan junior - BJ for short was not a great nickname.

FrenchFancie · 13/07/2024 06:42

I know of two people with the initials FGM and FFS…. Neither appear to have noticed so I’m not bribing it to their attention!
