Honest opinions on the following girls names please?!

Or any suggestions because I have had enough of looking and trying to find something I like. Really want something pretty/cute but not massively popular :/

Haha pregnancy does strange things to me. What on earth was I thinking with those names?! 😂

I chose Emmeline in the end, we only ever call her Emmie though.

She is now a 19 month old bundle of pure energy that never stops!

I’ve never heard of Etillie.
Does it bother you that people will mishear it and presume Otillie?
I don’t like Nell. The image I get is a fat older woman with huge breasts. Very disgruntled at life.
Nowhere to go with it nickname wise either apart from Nellie. Then lord help her if she isn’t very thin and attractive as Nellie the Elephant could be her nickname.

I like Nell as a diminutive of Elinor.

Wren is overused.
Pixie is not an adult's name.
Ottilie I've heard of but not your similar one. Very 1990s.

You are not picking a name for a sweet baby but for someone to use for the next 90 years.

Rune I like but I'm Scottish and worry a little that it might come out as Ruin - but that's an accent thing. The other choices are lovely. Nell is one of my favourite names.

😂Ah this phrasing brightened a grey Friday when I am struggling to settle to my work!

I agree Nell is lovely. I like it short for Helena.

ETA it was the masterful use of the verb "navigate" as if an extra two stone requires deploying reverse parking style assistance!

My children are both KS1 and between them they have all your names listed in their classes apart from Rune. I'd never met a Pixie before this one though. She's 6 and pretty badass. Not very fairy-like in stature but it still suits her.

Whichever name you choose (and I love Rune and Wren, like Nell and am not keen on the others) remember that you are naming a baby, but what you end up with is a fifty year old having to put up with people repeating their name, raising their eyebrows and saying 'really?'

What's cute on a tiny baby or toddler, doesn't always transfer, so I'd say choose a name that you can lengthen or shorten or has lots of possibilities for alternatives rather than the full name.

Ettilie (Ettie) - I like Ettie, but not Ettilie
Pixie - no, conjures up an image of a fairy dressed in petals, with an empty acorn top for a hat. Very cute, but also very silly.
Rune - a stone, not a name
Wren - acceptable
Nell (Nellie) - I like it

I love Ettie and Pixie. Nellie and Wren are ok but Rune is just Jackson's awful cousin from Gilmore Girls so would be a big No! for me.

Ettilie (Ettie) - my least favorite of the bunch, just isn't my style
Pixie - I think it would make a cool middle name
Rune - meh
Wren - I do like it this name but I actually really like Ren/Wren for a boy
Nell (Nellie?) - This one has really grown on me over the last few years! I've seen it as a stand alone name as well as a nickname for Noelle

I only like Nell from your list, but I would use Eleanor and then shorten it to Nell.

Your names need to work for an adult, not be adorable and unique for a child. They will be an adult much longer than they are babies for. And adult pixie sounds ridiculous. Rune, not much better. Names need to be something an adult isn't going to be embarrassed to say in a professional environment
