Recently found out that we will be having another DD - she will be a sister for Maeve

DH and I have agreed on either Lara, Sasha or Beatrice. Middle name will be Isabel.

Opinions please!

Lara is best from your list. I always feel like Saskia should have red hair and it is quite hard name.

Lara as it has mythological links like Maeve and also fits nicely as a sibset as they are both short and simple. 2nd choice classic Beatrice. Not Sasha - too nickname compared to Maeve.

@user1492757084 Not a fan of Saoirse at all I’m afraid. I’d love another Irish name but just can’t find any that I adore quite as much as Maeve! Considered Fiadh but where we are spelling and pronunciation would be an issue.

@Teamarugula Larissa has quite a ‘hissy’ sound to it that I don’t like. A bit too frilly for DH and I’s taste.

Saoirse is gorgeous, by the way!

Normallynumb · 08/07/2024 14:10

Lara

Beatrice! It’s beautiful. I’m not keen on Lara (I don’t like the sound, and also think Croft) or Sasha. What about Larissa instead of Lara?

user1492757084 · 08/07/2024 14:03

Lara Isabel is my fave of the three.
Do you like Saoirse Isabel? Another Irish name with Maeve.

Sundaysunshine21 · 08/07/2024 13:04

I like Lara or Beatrice with a slight preference for Beatrice. All lovely choices though.

ellenpartridge · 08/07/2024 11:44

Lara! Always been my favourite name but never got to use it.

JollyGreenSnake · 08/07/2024 11:16

Lara. There is an Irish version of Lara that would go nicely with Maeve, but you might not want DD2 to have to deal with silent 'gh'. (Laragh).

Mumofgirls2017 · 08/07/2024 11:03

Lara

KirstenBlest · 08/07/2024 10:08

Beatrice

Beatrice.

I'm not keen on the other names.
Have you considered Saskia, a similar vibe to Sasha, but so much prettier?

Not a fan of Saskia, I find it very harsh compared to Sasha. Just shows how subjective names are!

Before I even opened your thread, the name Isabel came to my mind!
Lara is lovely.

Now I'm going to think about next weeks lottery numbers.

Aquamarine1029 · 08/07/2024 01:43

Lara. I really dislike Beatrice.

RhetoricalRectangle · 08/07/2024 01:40
