Middle name for Julia

My husband and I love the name Julia for our baby girl but can’t agree on a middle name. Do you have any favorites from this list or suggestions? Claire and Elizabeth are family names honoring grandparents. I am not sure if a long or short middle name sounds best. Last name is Campbell.

Julia Rose
Julia Grace
Julia Claire
Julia Eloise
Julia Elizabeth
Julia Vivienne
Julia Violet / Violette

Thank you!

My name is Julia Caroline.

Married surname starts with a C too, similar length to yours. It's not as jarring as I thought it would be because nobody uses my middle name. Not sure I like Julia Claire though because of the flow.

I actually really like Julia Elizabeth and Julia Johanna - I'd have loved to have been a JJ growing up!

This is really helpful, thanks for sharing your personal experience with the name! I'm moving away from Julie Claire Campbell bc the two hard Cs don't sound great to me either. Glad you don't think Elizabeth or Johanna are too long with the name. I also like Julia Jean, Julia Jane, Julia Johanna (all variations of the same J name) bc JJ is cute, but I keep coming back to Elizabeth because it was my Nonnie's name and so elegant sounding to me.

Julia Jane...

useitorlose · 08/07/2024 15:26

I think it's best if the middle name starts with a consonant.

JiggleMeTimbers · 08/07/2024 15:24

Julia Elizabeth. Love the name Julia.

Juilia Claire Campbell is my fave.
Julia Elizabeth Campbell is a close second.

My daughter was nearly Julia Callisto.

That would have been so cool! You can suggest it for your future granddaughter.

Brexile · 08/07/2024 10:03

Julia is one of my favourite names, and I like Julia Jean and especially Julia Johanna. I think names that start with a vowel (Elizabeth) would be awkward to say where they follow a name ending in a vowel.

Julia Elizabeth. The Julia J* is a bit jarring.

Julia is a lovely name @LissieC ❤️.

Julia Elizabeth Campbell is gorgeous- so timeless sounding. Or if you want to honour two grandparents then Julia Claire Elizabeth Campbell. Your other choices are very nice too (apart from Rose and Grace which are every other young girls middle names these days). But I always think it’s nice to honour family for middle names, especially when you are lucky enough to have nice names (from a Julia who has her two grandmothers names as middle names).

Julia Rose - nice but Rose/Grace/May are filler middle names
Julia Grace - as above. Doesn't flow all that well
Julia Claire - seems a bit 1970s but flows well
Julia Eloise - too vowelly and too many Ld
Julia Elizabeth - fine
Julia Vivienne - I don't get the MN love for Vivienne
Julia Violet / Violette - Violet ok, Violette too frilly.

Claire or Elizabeth

I think it needs a one syllable name
