This is our top contender name for DD. Well known name, internationally used and uncomplicated pronunciation. I can imagine it suiting a child and an adult.

I was wondering how common it is where you are in babies/toddlers atm?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I don't know any , but actually it's a lovely name.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 06/07/2024 19:56

Lots of little Ninas in my son's school (east London).

And I still read that as "Do you know many Ninjas?"

combinationpadlock · 06/07/2024 19:54

I have known a few, In my experience it isn't a full adult name, it is a baby name, short for an adult name like Martina, or Christina.

JimNast · 06/07/2024 19:51

One adult only.

Sharontheodopolodous · 06/07/2024 19:36

SallyWD · 06/07/2024 19:33

Only one who's 45 and her real name is Christina.

SprigatitoYouAndIKnow · 06/07/2024 19:32

I live it and agree that it is quite straightforward internationally too.

Moreteaandchocolate · 06/07/2024 19:27

I love it and don’t know any

Partyrings123 · 06/07/2024 19:08

2, one aged 5 and one aged 43.

viques · 06/07/2024 19:05

Knew one at school, she will be old now, like me! It’s a lovely name, unusual but not out there.

amylou8 · 06/07/2024 19:04

I misread this as Ninja and came to recommend you my air fryer.

Lovely name, obviously Nina not Ninja.

Pombearprincess · 06/07/2024 19:03

One aged 4 and one who is 34. Lovely name.

ajanifear · 06/07/2024 18:59

I know one in her late twenties and one in her fifties (I think)

caringcarer · 06/07/2024 18:57

Only one Nina, but she is late fifties.

GreenMarigold · 06/07/2024 18:36

Lovely name. I’ve never met a Nina!

andjustlikethat1 · 06/07/2024 18:28

I like Mina, Tina and Nina I think they are cute names

MistyHazelFox · 06/07/2024 18:25

I think it's name that is not overly used, but often used sporadically.
Some say it like Nine-a, some as Nee-na/Nena and I'm saying this because you mentioned uncomplicated pronunciation, but Nine-a seems to be older English pronunciation that is sometimes used.

Sandysandwich · 06/07/2024 18:22

One, aged 26, not met any babies with it. Its a really nice name

BCBird · 06/07/2024 18:21

Teacher here. In my 30 year career have taught one Nina. Think she is of Polish descent.

DogsAndKidsAndSport · 06/07/2024 18:21

I know a few- all teenagers and all lovely. A fab choice!

Gugel · 06/07/2024 18:20

One who is eight. I quite like it.

LlynTegid · 06/07/2024 18:19

Only known one.

The name reminds me of a song by Ian Dury- Billericay Dickie (song not suitable for work!)

Watto1 · 06/07/2024 18:18

One aged 50. I love it. I wanted it for DD but dh wasn’t keen.

Beginningless · 06/07/2024 18:18

I agree it’s an elegant, timeless name. I know one, aged 14.
