Think I've heard it all now

Just got back from the park where we met a child called Tiara. Obviously I can't vouch for the spelling but thought all you expectant mummies would be dying to add that one to your lists...

I am hearing the word 'baked'hanging inthe air before it.

I met a woman at a mums and tots group and she has children, Alabbama and Zebbedee. And she was actually really nice and normal. Her name was Elizabeth. God I shouldn't be typing this. Oh sod it, she told me she was emigrating. I just put extra bs in her children's names in case she ever googles them to see if people are taking the micky.

MadameC that is very classy and I like the way it's a combination of Ruby and Ella. If DH & I ever stop snarling at each other and manage to conceive another child who has the fortune to be a girl please may we use it?

When we were in Devon a few months ago I heard a woman scream call her daughters name across the street - it was Alaska.

For a brief moment I wondered if she was named after the place she was conceived but then, after hearing the mum effing and blinding about how cold it was I guessed that wasn't the case.

One of my cousins was born on the day Diana and Charles got married and my Aunt called her Diana Charlotte in honour of them.

I quite like Roxy, it is on our list for names but altogether its horrible. That poor girl especially when/if she gets married and has to reel all that of.

Her mum said she couldn't pick 1 name.

Actually, I know this isn't really bad, it's just that she is the youngest one I know, BUT, one of the mums at my dd's school is Diana. She is about 30. Her dd is five.

My Mum has a friend called Diana and that doesn't seem worth commenting on. But I was dying to ask the 30 yr old if she was named after LadyDi. Or is that a stupid question! There actuallly aren't that many. I think Kylie has more girls named after her.

I could cope with just Roxy, nmsaa, but Roxy on its own is feisty in a contemporary way. It wil fit in between the Lexies and Rosies.

Tiger Lily and Myleene are too slave2slebridee! And then in the middle of it all, The very normal Sophia!! That name is like a collection of train carriages all heading in different directions.

When I was at work today I served a lady with a young girl sat in the trolley and she asked the little girl to tell me her name. It was...............

Roxanne Pearl Tigerlilly Sophia Myleene Jones.

Her mum then said to me "But we just call her Roxy"

< my face looked like that.

I know someone with a dd called sparkle and I also have a friend called Tiana but she's french, does that make it ok? she also happens to look like a model so that helps

In France the same. My sister had a hell of a job getting some of her kids' names (Welsh) through. Seem to recall it is ok if someone has used it before, so French baby mags full of letters from peeps reporing use of bizarre names.
