Alexander and Edward

Most of the usual saints names are classics.
Obviously there's a few very unusual ones as well. St Scholastica might raise eyebrows.

First thoughts with Alexander (Alex) were:-

Thomas
Joseph
James
William
Matthew

shoopshoopdedoo · 22/06/2024 20:12

Saw the title and came to suggest Alexander 😂 So I think I’ve got the brief!

I think they’ve all been suggested, but I think similar names would be:

James
George
William
Henry
Samuel
Benjamin
Thomas
Edward

Alexander is a true timeless classic - it hasn’t left the top 100 for over 100 years. Neither has William and they make me think of Alexander the Great and William the Conqueror so would definitely be a “strong” sibset.

But other classics that have never left the top 100 are:

Edward
Michael
David
George
James
Thomas
Daniel
Joseph

What about

Nicholas
William
Wilfred
Charles
Christopher
Eric
Henry (I have one)

For me I had an issue with the shortening of some of the classic boys names eg loved (& still do) Nicholas but couldn't live with Nicky!

I have known oodles of Nicholas’s in my life, and not once have they been known as Nicky.

Always Nick.
